I used to work with what we all reckoned was a man in drag - lanky, glasses, tweeds, pearls, big hands and Adam's apple. I don't think anyone got emotionally close enough to him/her to find out what was going on as he/she was, frankly, not very interesting - which may just have been because he was inhibited by conflicting feelings. If that work colleague was actually a woman, then she was the most uninteresting woman I've ever met.
