Put the claim in anyway. You should be able to do it online. Some companies are easier to do this than others. GWR is a doddle, cross-country was less user friendly. But both got full refunds.

If it was only due to extreme weather and not the company's fault you will get nothing. But no loss in applying.

I’ll be putting in a claim in for sure and claiming back my Uber as I’d missed my last bus from the station to home.

It’s the lack of information at Piccadilly that pissed me off too. Which may not be exclusively down to that shower of shite Transpennine ‘Express.’

19.58 service cancelled. This was announced at 21.03. No shit it was cancelled (not that I was actually there for this service) but I did intend on getting the 20.58 service. Guess what? Cancelled. No information given as to why and the only reason I know it was cancelled was fecking about going to the information desk as the platform it was due in at now had a train going to Stoke. Even though it was still displayed in the screen as on time and online, the same. The ‘funniest’ bit was the train driver was waiting on the platform with us and he didn’t have a clue where it was either and soon scuttled off.

But hey, they’d ordered a bus replacement service in its place but couldn’t tell us when it would be there as it had just been ordered (time is now 21.20) or where to go for it but just got told to go outside the station and ask random bus drivers, if theirs was the bus replacement service.

It’s not exactly the first time Transpennine ‘Express’ have offered an incredibly shit service. I thought the clowns had lost their franchise anyhows?? If there ever was a misnomer it was that. Transpennine ‘Express’ pffffft!!

What’s Burnham done about this??

The public transport system in this fecking country of ours is an utter disgrace. And the Government wonder why everyone jumps in a car!!

Whenever I go away abroad, I am in shock and awe as to how other countries have such a good system!! And guess what, not every fecker relies on their cars as they don’t have to!!

Drives me insane!! I’m getting more and more annoyed as I type this. And don’t even get me started on the fact as to how we’re still on diesel engines!

We invented the bloody things and to be fair, Johnny foreigner does a much better job at running the dammed things.

They changed the rules a few years ago so that consequential losses like taxi fares and hotels could now be claimed however that may mean a trip to the small claims court.

Cheers for that. It's a pity nobody told Transport for Wales when my partner made a claim a few months ago.
The journey from Ludlow to Manchester was fucked up and the return stopped at Crewe. She got the ticket money back, but not my petrol as I had to drive to Crewe and then take her to Ludlow.
