I think if the role was supposed to increase the numbers of people of colour it does seem somewhat relevant. Whether you agree on the premise has been done to death.

I think with trans issues being prominent issues are going to develop beyond toilets. People are very good at grabbing opportunities.

I've heard the rhetoric of diversity/inclusiveess and what not, and though well meant it has it's issues. Clearly the majority of humans arent grown up up enough to make distinctions. If only we were all colour blind eh?
