I am over from Belfast for Spurs match November 11th with 1330 kick off time so game will end about 1530.
We are due to fly home however from Liverpool airport at 7pm so need to be in airport about 6pm. I did this for Southampton game and was a bit of a rush.
This time I will have 2 kids too so could be even more of a rush.
I have found a Liverpool based 5 seater taxi ( there will be 3 adults and 2 kids ) which will collect us and bring us to Liverpool airport ok but he is sceptical about pick up outside the ground and I can understand this.
I'm not sure if there is much point in us trying to make our way back to the City Centre though, it might just be better to wait at the ground and get him to pick us up there at 5pm ( I am presuming an hour will get me to Liverpool from there ok ?? )
My question is, will the traffic around the ground at 5pm ( about 90 minutes after end of match ) be quiet enough for him, or would I be better trying to get the 5 of us back to Piccadilly for 5pm for the pick up there.
alternatively if any of you are Manchester based taxi drivers or know of one who would like this fare to Liverpool airport please give me a shout also
dont mess about getting a bus to town....too much hassle....relax and enjoy a couple of drinks to celebrate another fine home victory.
How much has the liverpool based taxi quoted you?
Is he also bringing to manchester before the game/day before?
Cheers. He is quoting me £55 one way, not too bad ( I think )
I dont need him the other way as I am flying into Manchester, just home from Liverpool

-- Wed Oct 10, 2012 12:55 pm --

takeabooson said:i hate leaving before the end as well buddy but this is ur best option, i took the car and parked up against arsenal and it took me at least 1 hr 30 mins to get away from the ground and instead of getting a taxi theres a train that leaves manchester picc at about 16.38 that calls at liverpool south parkway that will cost u all about £38

then get a taxi from there to the airport but depends how much the taxi from manchester is gonna cost u, or u can stay til the end and take a chance u will get on the bus, if that fails it only takes about 20-25 mins to walk to piccadilly station and get ur taxi to pick u up there
Cheers, this is what I did last time, its just the hassle of getting back into Piccadilly after game with a 5 year old. I was startign to get confident of sitting with a pint for an hour, or hour and gettnig the taxi at 5pm from the ground, but now I ahve doubts again. I really dont want to leave early. Will play it by ear. Hopefully we are 5 nil up by the 85minute so the game is decided ( just about !! )
thanks for all suggestions.
hope this helps buddy
