Travel help after Spurs match for a fellow blue

My question is, will the traffic around the ground at 5pm ( about 90 minutes after end of match ) be quiet enough for him, or would I be better trying to get the 5 of us back to Piccadilly for 5pm for the pick up there.

alternatively if any of you are Manchester based taxi drivers or know of one who would like this fare to Liverpool airport please give me a shout also

traffic will be quiet/freely moving 60 minutes after game finished so your best bet is to have a couple of pints after the game and arrange for taxi to collect you from 4.30pm onwards, even 5.00pm as you say is more than enough time to get to liverpool airport before 6.00pm.
dont mess about getting a bus to town....too much hassle....relax and enjoy a couple of drinks to celebrate another fine home victory.
How much has the liverpool based taxi quoted you?
Is he also bringing to manchester before the game/day before?

then get a taxi from there to the airport but depends how much the taxi from manchester is gonna cost u, or u can stay til the end and take a chance u will get on the bus, if that fails it only takes about 20-25 mins to walk to piccadilly station and get ur taxi to pick u up there

Cheers, this is what I did last time, its just the hassle of getting back into Piccadilly after game with a 5 year old. I was startign to get confident of sitting with a pint for an hour, or hour and gettnig the taxi at 5pm from the ground, but now I ahve doubts again. I really dont want to leave early. Will play it by ear. Hopefully we are 5 nil up by the 85minute so the game is decided ( just about !! )

£55 for 5 of u is a decent price, I've done hulme to Liverpool airport for 4 of us
And it cost us £50 take the taxi option and have a couple of beers in city square
After the game til the traffic dies down

this is the less hassle option and the price quoted is decent enough for a 5 seater, plus the journey is door to door, so to speak.
The Terravision bus option provided above is the cheapest option, although you will have the hassle of getting into town to catch it whilst you could be savouring a few pints in one of the pubs near the ground
 
Apologies if this is in the wrong topic but as I have just joined I cant start a topic of my own.

I am from up in the north east and was wondering if any of the other members know of any supporters from up here travel down to the etihad for matches (e.g. minibus) as I want to get to a few more games this season but dont fancy the 6 hour round trip on me todd. Would appreciate any advice thanks in advance.

I can't see a much cheaper option than the taxi at 5pm from the stadium without a loss of messing about - unless you're arriving at Manchester same day in which case a Family Wayfarer (2 adults, 2 kids) and an adult Wayfarer (£10) would get you from the airport by train and bus to the stadium, and from the stadium to Warrington by bus and train, from where a taxi would be around £20-£22.

But you still need to have a rendezvous - I'd give the taxi driver the postcode for the Merc garage on Ashton New Road. M11 3RR
