Travelling across America...

Has anyone done this?

One day I would love to travel from the East Coast to the West Coast. Then coming back through Canada.

Doing the Cannonball Run would be immense, but not having to race.


If you have been to America, where was your favourite part and why?

And if you don't like America, but like travelling and exploring, which is the best country you have visited and do you plan on going doing it again?

Have done 9 road trips and covered 42 states. Best one was US-50 from Washington DC to San Francisco in 14 days. Absolutely fantastic trip - great small towns, odd people, amazing scenery, especially Utah and Nevada but also Kansas. But you have to hire a BIG car and stay well clear of the interstates - they're like our motorways, dull, dull, dull.

Isn't Massachusetts part of New England?

Yes it is I think I get a bit confused I didn't spend a lot of time in that area. I started in Boston for a few days then up cape cod and stayed in Providencetown then back to Boston before catching a flight to Texas. (meant to be going to New Orleans on this trip but it was 1 week after the floods!)

Cool, where in San Fransicko are you thinking of living?

god...I'll have to see. I'm out there a week to find a place. There is a lot of cool stuff to do in the mission but I don't know if I would like to live right in it. So really any neighborhood that is relatively convenient to the mission and my work (downtown) would be nice. Noe valley, lower haight, upper market or upper portrero would all be nice. I heard the tenderloin is the only real shithole in the city so I'll avoid that.

I spent 4 months there in the summer, working and travelling up and down the East Coast from Orange County up through LA and Pasadena then right up into Oregon where Portland is a must visit then up as far as Seattle. All beautiful places with great people and plenty to do. Unfortunately I missed out on the 3 main places I wanted to see which were San Fran, San Diego and Santa Barbara but I did enough for one trip. I've definitely decided I'll be living out there asap, it's just so much better than living here.

Be careful in the bible belt though, they'll make you Squeal like a pig!!

yeah, the tenderloin is the dumps, but its not huge, so you shouldn't have a hard time avoiding it... gotta say i'm jealous, i was so close to landing a job months back in SF... good luck to you, enjoy!

Ha! I almost got a couple different jobs in NYC within the past year and half but they didn't work out. thanks for the well wishes!
