Trent Alexander-Arnold

Honestly can't believe anyone is even entertaining this. He has been a deliberate **** to City fans when playing for Liverpool, including a totally extravagant shushing the south stand after scoring against us.

If he signed for City I'd honestly consider not going, one of my top hated players, absolute prick.
This place had fans of Pogba too very recently they wanted to sign Rashy called Phillips a key player

Apart from the celebration, what makes him a prick?

There is nothing emphatic about it. Too many see a guy with a good delivery but you cant judge a player without looking at the negatives as well, for a team prone to getting hit on the counter and having a midfield that can be wide open maybe having a player like him is nowhere near a priority.
It's a case of weighing the positives against the negatives. There weren't many better at delivering a killer ball when he was in the Prem; King Kev was superior, that's it. I also think the claim that he can't defend is overdone, he was a mainstay in one of the best Liverpool teams of this generation, a role entrusted to him by a world class manager. He clearly has something about him. If we get back to a style of play where we monopolise play, he'd absolutely be a net positive to the squad.

But like I said, it's click-bait rubbish.

Good post. Except I'm not as sure its purely click-bait rubbish. I'm sure its still unlikely, but I have no doubt City are keeping tabs on the situation. Trent is a player capable of creating something from nothing quite often. As you said, his ball-striking when crossing one in is only second to Kev. Saka impressive also but more attempts.

Many cagey games we've played this season we've been crying out for someone to fucking smack one across the goal into Erling's path. As we seen Nunes do last game. I understand the reservations some have, but Trent offers a profile that is extremely unique and would be welcomed by Pep imo. And in a position thats currently extremely thin across the globe. I'd welcome him. Liverpool are not the same without Trent.

Whats not to like about a right back who can't defend and has a history of hamstring injuries that are getting worse every year?

(Also for everyone saying "Trent" can we get a fucking mod on here? :)
it easier to type

we can call him Treant or Trentavius then

His arrogance.

"I see things others don't" days before a CL Final where he didn't see Vinicius come in behind him to score the winning goal.

He's the one who made the claim that titles mean more to Liverpool fans than fans of other clubs, specifically referencing City.

I absolutely don't want to see him in a City shirt, I'm sorry.

I could see this happening.

Going back to a back 3.

Fb into midfield.

Wingers high and wide.

So a player who can play a pass and take a corner/set piece would be welcome. I still think he is a bit of a prick but he did learn Spanish before his move and he was very complimentary about city fans, basically rubbished the no fans and no atmosphere. Certainly not much different to any other team.

Could see a player like this being appealing.
Someone who can take a fukin corner scouse or not wouldn't be terrible

He said some mean words and did a rude face?

It really isn't that deep.

That’s my take re- formation. Dias guehi and guardiol

I wouldn’t be surprised if the “it means more” nonsense was to appease the cult. Not saying I want him but he’s also praised our atmosphere whenever we’ve played Liverpool.

Not a fan but could see how he could make parts of our game better.

People wound up by stuff he said years ago are babies

Technically, sure. But we've played this way many times before.

We can and have played systems where one of the fullbacks is more advanced than the other and the other plays more like a 3rd CB.

It os not hard to envision a Scenario where a 3 of (Gvardiol, Guehi, Dias and Khusanov) play plus an attacking RB in Trent. Allowing us to overload the middle as the RW ( most likely Cherki/ Semenyo) plays more inside and let's Trent have the wide area.

For what its worth, Trent really isnt a major overlapping full back. A majority of his crosses are from the areas Kev used to like belting crosses from.

While unlikely to happen, I can comfortably see Pep loving a player with Trent's skillset.
yes, he will be a great replacement in midfield for kevin
