Not seen it on today so thought i would put it on, as i love these reports as i am sure you all do.

A normal quiet session today and the good news being that Carlos was back with the team. Vinnie though wasn't out after pulling up yeterday but no news if it's a problem for weekend.None of the reserves either due to the game v the scum tonight.

After routine warms up ,jogging and stretching they moved into a sort of match scenario but working mainly on defensive shape. The 'main' team was only 9 players being a keeper , back 4 ,3 in the middle and a striker and the rest attacked them with a full team. The defensive unit stood up well and one notable thing was the voice of Lescott. He was not only in charge but also very audible with his shouts and instructions.

After this 'game' for a while they switched to a more conventional team game. It didn't appear that they were working on anything in particular. Mancini started on the sidelines watching intently but moved more central to be closer to the action and no doubt influence the general play and the positional play in some cases.Gunnar Neilsen was filling in as centre half on one team and did ok especially with an excellent recovery tackle on Silvinho ( he took a while to recover himself after that one). Not too many goals scored but one beauty near the end from Rocky was probably the pick and I would have Lescott as the stand out player on the field.

Probably more tactical work tomorrow but today was a good run out getting the legs moving in a full pitch work out. The weather was so nice they even did the warm down outside with jogging around and all the stretching on the field.

Perhaps Lescott is eyeing a stretch as captain! Prefer an outfield player to have it over a 'keeper personally.
Hope VK is fit for the weekend.

Great news to here Tevez is back, Hopefully Kompany just sat out today as precaution, Great news to hear Lescott is shouting instructions, The last few weeks he has been brilliant.

Was Stevie Ireland there? Who do you think will play on Sunday? I hope he doesn't put Vierra or Richards in. Even the commentators are beginning to comment on Micah's stroll down the pitch.

Isn't the best back 4 Richards,Kompany,Lescott,Bridge?

I think we should play the same team that beat Chelsea (If it's not broken dont fix it)

As long as Vieira isnt playing im happy!

Agree Vieira is a no no for me aswell waste of time and wage money i think

Thanks for the info.

Agree that we should possibly keep the same team as against Chelsea, though I would like to maybe see Ireland for Zabaleta.

It would give us a more attacking look.

Despite their win in mid-week, they will still be low on confidence and Mr Ugly will no doubt pack the defence, so it willl need a bit more unlocking that Ireland can provide.

Yeah thanks for that. Can I ask why we don't get pics any more. I know it sounds a bit cheeky but I love to look at them. (And not in a rude way boys!!!!) Sorry for asking and Im not being funny or anything. I really did enjoy the pictures.

good to know carlos is back, lets hope vinnie is ok for sunday, and as for veira it would'nt surprise me if he started,as since mancini took over guessing who plays is a mystery at times...

Any news on Toure? He's been playing with an injury for most of the season and I'm not sure if he's training now? Think it kept him out of Ivory Coast's international

It's obviously very important that we have a good defensive shape - it's the basis of any good team. But i can't be the only one that's concerned that there is hardly ever any mention of attacking routines or drills in these training reports, surely? I get the feeling that if our opposition don't leave space for us to counter-attack into, then we are pretty clueless as to how to break down teams. Chelsea kept on throwing more and more men forward, and we killed them on the break as a result. Most teams don't allow us to do this though, and i wonder if we have a plan to combat it.

Toure trained today Marvin, he slotted in next to Lescott.

Hopefully Kompany will be fit, but the way they shaped up today they're making plans without him just in case.

Look out too for the one off ball they will be using on Sunday, they used it today it's much lighter than the current ball, still made by Nike but different texture and definately lighter in weight than the current premiership ball, it's to do with the Nike Red campaign i think.

I thought that Bridge, Barry and SWP were also looking good today, it was good to see some ball work and team games.

Trev, i agree that there isn't much work done on the attacking side although when i was watching today, Mancini was involved in both the defensive and attacking side of the match today, instructing the players where he wants them in certain scenarios.

Whilst there wasn't a lot to see, i was a little more encouraged than my previous visit.

Vicky, that's my fault, i don't keep the camera in the car.

My visits are less frequent now due to work, the next time i go i promise to take some for you! As long as they are not behind the iron curtain.

Deano, to be honest mate DH has a decent feel for how Mancini will line them up as he is quite blatant in the way he trains them, the groups he divides them up into in the sessions.

Agreed,he just seemed to come out of his shell all of a sudden,in the SS you can clearly here him shouting to players to "MARK HIM" & pointing to them where to go.
