A young man/father died and that is a tradgedy

Most of the things written since about how great he was a footballer have been well OTT,i can remember the guy being a target for boo boys for most of the season,so much so he was off to pompey after that tournament.

People might find my comment bad taste but i find this forced grief in even worse taste if im honest.

Just my opinion but one i feel strongy about, let him R.I.P and stop this annual grief fest!

Prepared to buy us both tin hats for this pal, but couldn't agree more.
A shocking tragedy, great loss to his family and the game, but all this "legend" and "forever our number 23" nonsense makes me cringe.
He had a great home debut for us against Newcastle, a bit of a purple patch in the November/December where he bagged 6/7 goals, and scored the last city goal at Maine Road.
The end.

Marc,

You made history in your short time here at the club and the retired 23 in the programmes is a constant reminder to the great performances you put in. Nine goals from a Manchester City midfielder was something of a rarity in those days! My condolences are to his widow and the children that he left behind.

I'll have a tin hat as well then.

The death of a footballer in his prime was tragic. The club marked his passing and retired his shirt number. We will always know that the shirt was last worn by Foe and I believe that the clubs actions were fitting in the circumstances.

It is also correct that Foe was a target for the fans. However as is often the case, you didn't realise what Foe did for the team until he was gone. I believe that a lot of fans came to realise this in the subsequent season(s) and fans are free to express their views on this subject.

I will remember his passing as a City player, but not as a favourite player of mine.

Regardless of whether he was a favourite or not, the fact is that he was associated with the Blues is enough to remember him....so I also say RIP Marc Vivien Foe.
