Trophy Parade in Manchester | Mon 25th May

Tin hat on but I think we're at a stage now where we should only do this sort of stuff for league title wins and champions league wins.
Got to disagree with this, plenty of kids will be there, not just us grumpy old FOC’s and supporters who are used to it. The smiles and celebrations for the younger ones is brilliant to see, for some it will be their first parade, they’ll remember it for the rest of their lives.

Let’s not get too entitled and curmudgeonly about winning trophies, it’s bleeding hard to win one never mind two (or three), got to celebrate these fantastic times.

My lads wanted to go for years but as we’re 100 + miles away, it’s normally a school and work day it’s usually a no. This year, already done all his assignments and exams at university, it’s a bank holiday so no work.
We’re going to the Villa game and staying in Stoke (his uni town) so we’ll be there. After being at Wembley yesterday, and John and Bernie going, if those who don’t fancy it as not important enough then loads of others will pick up the slack.

Ancoats is always busy on a sunny Bank Holiday. It will be great as all our parades have been. Lots of local families who can’t afford tickets will love it.

It might be because the women won the title and they want to make it a joint effort so more people turn up.

Dont think its to accommodate the women's team. Think its more to just bring the achievements across the club together. The women's team had a great day celebrating with the fans in the stadium and at the pub in London yesterday and they have an event at the Albert Hall in Manchester tonight.

I’ll be there, making the arduous journey from Ashton. What’s not too like? Couple of drinks before then a Ruby afterwards, bit of a late one but for us FOC’s it’s followed by Bank Holiday Tuesday, happy days.

Spot on. The treble parade in the rain was a biblical event. People forget that 100,000 people live in central Manchester these days. It will be packed anyway

Hope you have a great weekend, will be a bit emotional to say goodbye to Johnny Boulders and Bernie, can’t see how we replace the latter, he’s been an absolute superstar, as was Johnny but his injuries have obviously meant the end of his City career, wish them both the best. Im convinced Bernie would only leave us for Barca or Benfica.

What a day that was! For once the rain actually added something to it and fair play to the players, in particular Haaland and Grealish who really went for it. Got some brilliant pictures of them interacting with the fans loving life. Town was a sea of blue everywhere!

When we won the FA Cup in 2011 they did a parade that went up to the Etihad for an ‘after party’ thing at the ground.

I think that was the last time they did this?
We took our then 18 months old grandson with us.

Mrs Vienna was worried that he would be frightened by the fireworks, but he loved them.

It's a good job I've got that tin hat on. I remember pissing myself when liverpool did a parade for the fa and league cup double in 2022. I worry that what we've achieved, as great as it is, will not be enough to line the streets from town to the Etihad and fill the coop arena. It feels like we're setting ourselves up for a fail.
Stop worrying Blue.

I completely agree.

We went 35 years without winning a major trophy, so let’s do our best to make up for that long drought.

Have they announced timings yet?

More i think about the event, more i think it's being done for the benefit of the women's team more than the men.
Surely they can bring the 2 trophies to the villa game and parade them on the lap of honour.
Sounds to me like they want to promote the women's team so doing an event that includes them ticks the equality box.

Think just the even at the co op with no parade would be better unless we do win the league.

Don’t be such a wet blanket!

We went 35 years without winning a major trophy, and every one we win should be celebrated to the fullest.

The women have won the WSL for the first time in a decade, and the U18s have done the Double. They deserve to have their achievements recognised properly.

Weird timing if they are having the Women on the parade aswell. They don't play the FA Cup Final until the 31st, why not wait until that?
