It doesn’t bother me in the slightest but I’ve noticed this ‘style’ of reporting a lot recently.
The bit in quotes in the headline is lifted from a Tweet by some random Irish Liverpool fan.
He goes on to quote Mark Goldbridge claiming there were 12,000 at the parade.
No mention of the dozens of replies from City fans, with photos, proving they are both talking total shite.
So you just pluck some nonsensical Tweet by an anonymous random guy on Twitter. Write the words…. ‘People are saying’ followed by the quote. And this apparently passes for serious journalism these days.
I said I wasn’t bothered. But it’s all a bit sad really.
The great thing about parades is that it is an opportunity for the many thousands of Manchester-based fans who can't afford ticket prices to see their heros. City has always been the club of the masses but these days so many people have been priced out of football. I couldn't get there last night but went to the one last year in the rain which was fantastic. What made it so joyous was the fantastic energy of so many of our younger fans. As a club we need to try harder to get some of them into the stadium.I went to Cathedral Gardens and there was a lot of Asians there.
We need get a few of them in the ground, their enthusiasm was fantastic in the pissing rain.

All he needs to do is to post a comment on X/Twitter, make up a false City parade figure, basically lie, (use a picture of the parade), post it on X/Twitter, and he will get 10,000’s of likes, and 100’s of comments, whilst he doesn’t reply, and knows his bank a balance will be growing again.
