Trouble in the East Stand??

It looked to me like the police were just standing there letting the stewards do what they like ! is that how it was ?

What can we actually do about this? Who can we all bombard with messages etc?
I have already sent a letter to Brian Marwood about yesterday disgusting behaviour and the way the stewards are treating the fans. I have previously sent one to Fletcher when I had problems about my standing in 119 a few weeks ago but he didn't have the decency to reply. I accept Brian Marwood isn't the guy I should be writing to but if we all feel that strongly then we should be writing to the club. Something needs to be done!

Yep, that is Peter Fletcher all over.

He is more interested in his invite to his policeman's ball with all his former friends in the police force, than he is about the safety of us City fans. Thats the only reason i can think he wouldn't respond. We could see all this building and alot of fans over the years have tried to tell him, but hey, the police, or in this case former police, always knows best!

Fletcher needs to take a leaf out of Danny Wilson's book. An employee of City who actually bothers to address concerns of fans.

Re: Ejections in 109

There was no official club announcement that 109 was for standing, But I never said this, neither has anyone else?

Myself and many others who relocated this season to Block 109 where told sory let me re-word this: Were ADVISED BY MCFC STAFF during our relocation procedure with the Box Office that if we wanted to stand Block 109 was suitable and that we should go there.

Sure they didn't put this in writing but this is what myself and many others were told, I still remember word for word and who the lady was who said this to me....

I completely agree that if someone wishes to Sit they should be allowed to, nobody should be forced to stand.... but neither should anybody be forced to sit.

However the stadium is big, there are seats all over the stadium where one could sit if wish to do so.

it is no coincidence that probably the hardest place to get tickets at the Etihad is where everyone stands..... because people want to stand there.

I think this may backfire on us.

The more this issue is highlighted the more grounds the H&S people stand on to ban us all from standing.... Sure I don't think we will back down easily but once they start throwing banning orders around alot of fans will start sitting down.

Sat in East Stand front row 2nd tier directly above and saw it happen. I am your average law abiding supporter but that 'tached steward nearly caused a riot and deserved a lot more than he got. He laid into the crowd and threw a punch or two, some came back at him, he seemed to be enjoying it all. Got me screaming and swearing and if I was down there god knows what i would of done. People on here quoting the rules and all that but they weren't there to see them pick on an old man because they can. No consistency. Villa stood up all game (as usual for visiting fans) - no trouble. Other grounds it's the same. In Europe would they pick on the "ultra" section for misbehaving, standing, getting the flares out and what have you. Why pick on your loyalist fans, those in the former Kippax? We have a seat, in some areas people mostly stand in front of it. These areas are the most diificult to get tickets for, which tells you something. It's not where the families or older people usually go. We all pay our money and these fans are otherwise well behaved. It's a myth that it has anything to do with health and safety, if they want to throw people out to gain brownie points with some jobsworth at the council then start with the visiting fans and leave 109 alone. How about a song for the most picked on section from every loyal fan - "We are 109, say we are 109".
