trafford and stretford where are you. ??
what cant speak cant lie..

Local Loyalties
No matter whether the dialect is Oldham, Cheadle, Gatley, Westhoughton, Macclesfield or Rossendale, outsiders refer to them all as "Mancunian" or "Lancashire". It is little wonder that the peoples of Salford, Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside, Trafford, Bury, Bolton and Wigan fiercely defend their right to be called Stopfordians (natives of Stockport), Ashtonians (natives of Ashton),Mancunians (natives of Manchester), or Boltonians (etc),
and it is right and proper that they should. Salford, for example, was an important township when Manchester was little more than a hamlet on Salford's outskirts - Salfordians grow visibly annoyed at being called Mancunians, as do Traffordonians.

Lets be honest though most of us lot dont live in manchester if were being honest then, manchesters pretty small really, i find it a bit insulting to blues from salford, sale, alty, middleton, old trafford, cheadle, hyde etc.

Manchester itself is mostly students/ex students, down and outs, immigrants and general wierdos. Give me gtr manc anyday.

Whatever the intricacies the fact remains, that the famous 'Manchester' U****d aren't actually from Manchester!

'This is our City'.

Like it or not, plenty of city fans come from Trafford and the surrounding areas as well as United fans.

I'm a United fan from Urmston so most of the city fans I know are from Gorse Hill/Stretford.

Sorry mate but what part of trafford and stretford didnt you get ??
Has it ever crossed your mind as to why there are no clubs called " London city" or "London United"..think about it.. If the actual City of London had a stadium and football club then im sure there would be..Am not talking people am talkin their football ground..which when built wasnt in manchester and greater manchester didnt exist...

City are the only true Manchester team..

Manchester Districts in 1838
In 1838 the original City of Manchester included only the most central districts of Cheetham, Beswick, Ardwick, Hulme and Chorlton-on-Medlock. Other districts were incorporated at various dates over the following century, though not all original district placenames were to survive annexation.

Manchester Districts in 1938
By 1938, the following district townships had been added :

1885: Bradford, Harpurhey and Rusholme.
1890: Crumpsall, Blackley & Moston, Newton Heath, Clayton, West Gorton, Openshaw and Kirkmanshulme.
1903: Heaton Park.
1904: Moss Side, Chorlton-cum-Hardy, Withington, Burnage and Didsbury.
1909: Gorton and Levenshulme.
1913: Heaton Norris.
1931: Wythenshawe.
Note that Heaton Norris was actually lost to Manchester when it was incorporated into the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport in 1973. The district of Kirkmanshulme was subsumed into other neighbouring districts.

Hove..but what has to do with owt !! Born crumpsall ,lived as a kid in langley and Rochdale. and why do you find it insulting that i say the swamp isnt in Manchester..it is only technically now but not til the 70s..
I find it insulting that rags say they are a manchester club when in fact theyre not..Old trafford pays council tax to trafford council not Manchester council like we do...
