TT Death

my intention was not to upset you biker types

now stop moaning, shave that beard off, and IRON that scruffy iron maiden shirt..

I've got a bike, and I've had a bike for years. I'd never think of racing in a TT because IMO, it's selfish. He just left a wife and two kids. Well done.

Of course there are risks whilst riding normally, Every biker know's that but to go and do the TT with that many responsibilities as an average joe is bewildering. (I'm not saying that he was an Average Joe, I'm saying that from an outside viewpoint)

So by that argument isn't everyone in the army who has a wife and child selfish? Or Steve Irwin?

I went last year with my bike and it's absolutely mental. I think there were three deaths last year (pro racers), and I think one "normal" bloke - probably because he was riding like a twat. The public that crash and die do so because they ride like mentalists, which is their own choice I guess. I remember doing about 110MPH on the mountain road coming up to a corner and come bloke flew past me, must have been doing about 140 minimum. Crazy stuff, but horses for courses.

As for the pros....it's their job. Sponsorships, contracts...and to get to that level they must absolutely love it.

when are they going to stop this pointless, dangerous road race?

Sounds a little bit interfering to me, also sounds like someone moaning.

perceive it how you want

sorry, you already have.

Been round that course in an RS Turbo as a passenger years ago, I can understand the buzz. Dangerous roads ,but what a good course to test yourself Joey Dunlop I doff my proverbial hat at your achievement RIP, and RIP Paul Dobbs . Saw a fella lose part of his hand on a practice run in 99 on the quarterbridge road, met him after the meeting ,he was fine about it,it was one of those things he said. Its all part of winning ,going fast is the name of the game, some of the spectators are nutcases trying to get pictures. there is a film that is entirely shot from a bike that shows the entire course ,it must be on youtube ,someone get it on ,you can feel the speed from your armchair.

You've got stuff coming past you so fast your brain can't take it all in

they had a rider earlier on ITV4 who did a camera lap and they had him commentate on it all the way round....some of the stuff he was saying so he can remember bends, etc is amazing.

for example he says he knows when he see's the pink wall he should be in 3rd gear......LOL ;p
