TV detector vans

I just had another letter asking me if I will be in on the 9th of January and quite frankly me and my good lady wife can't sleep with the worry. They even wrote this on the outside of the envelope in order to make us feel inadequate in front of the postman but we don't because he told us he is expecting his visit on the 14th : /

None shall pass !

Do me a favour mate and see if you can get a pic of his detector van.

Would Joe public accept this nonsense if Virgin Sky or Amazon started to demand that you bought into their service on pain of prosecution. The only sad part in all this is that 200,000 lost souls out there do not know their rights and blindly let them into their homes annualy to gather evidence because they think they have special powers. Enforcement officers my arse !

Slightly off topic buy at 10pm last night New Years Day l saw a car with a clamp. It had to be for road tax and it seemed to have been recently done.
The owners fault probably but what a bastard trick at this time of year when insurance offices and taxation offices are closed but the clamping clock is ticking, removal fees doubling and impounding taking place.

It didn't take the scurrilous dogs long to put car tax back up once they realized they were getting slapped. I had a new Mondeo diesel around 4 year back and the taxation if I remember was £20 or free and this will remain with that car for life. And then they upped the anti. I have a 3008 now but recently owned a tin box 110 Hyundai and that was £120 or £140 ? All this nonsense about carbon emissions and rewarding folk for their due diligence was a load of old bollocks and in essence with our government it's all to do with the fiscal. They talk the talk though but if this extra taxation money helps our Boris get Brexit done then so be it : /

You might have guessed l have my own history with DVLA. My steering lock key broke in the lock so i couldnt get it onto my drive for MOT and then tax it. On the few days following it it seems a van came down the cul de sac, alerted the clamping crew who put the clamp on in seconds slapped a big notice on the screen and buggered off in a puff of smoke. I only spotted the notice in the evening. From the next morning it was a mad panic to get money get an expensive auto locksmith get MOT which gets sent to the clampers who the sneaked in again removed the clamp and then get to Vhestrr to tax it. All with that bloody clock increasing fees for every step.

Do l sympathise with anyone who has to do the same at this time of year when so many places close down although you can bet the clampers are on a bonus on NYD.

But the worst thing was not being able to tell them they were a load of wankers. They were based in Liverpool strangely enough
