I know this advice is well intended but its an absolute no no.
If he has anyone poking about in it before the supplier has it looked over he fucked.
Do not have anyone touch it other than a designated engineer.

Either me or mancmakem can help bud its our old mans own business pm either of us
How can you help if you nul and void the contract with his supplier?

I heard mancmakem`s dad, sprays (fook off) on the inside of every tv he repairs. :)

My mum had the same problem with her Samsung. A repair man had a look at it and said the screen was goosed and it was better to buy a new one. You might have better luck though.

How old was it? (the tv)

Getting on for four years old. Yours sounds newer so as I said you might have better luck hopefully. She bought another 40" tv for 300 quid not bad really.

I bought it from Richer Sounds Deansgate. I'm sure the warranty was only 2 years and I bought it March 2011. Haven't received a PM?
Fuck the warranty its not worth the paper its written on. If your tv has failed then it quite clearly not fit for purpose and the sale of goods act will help you ram it up the suppliers arse.
ps. If you've paid by credit card you're talking cast iron come back.

This.

Take it back to Richer Sounds before you get anyone to look at it.
