TV Series

True Detective Season Three - the half hour I watched felt like three, so gave up.

Maniac (Netflix) with Jonah Hill and Emma Stone was a good Black Mirror style romp. About 8 hours in total.... It would have been better to have spent more time exploring an intriguing world that would have made for a great Sci-Fi series in it's own right, but it narrowed in scope pretty quickly. It was still very provoking, and interesting to piece together what was going on with them through their 'dreams'.

Currently halfway through Russian Doll. Call it Groundhog Day, with every single drug in it's system, and without any of the small town folky good vibes. Only complaint so far is that the episodes are very short.

Still got to stick my neck out and say Godless was my number one watch of last year. Jeff Daniels as a mass murdering quasi-religious gang leader in a western setting. Just, yes.

Thing with True Detectives is its always been a slow burner takes time to get into them Usually by episode 3/4 your in to it also feel you have to a certain mood to watch them! Loved the first 2 season not started season 3 yet am looking forward to it.

I’m on the fourth season of Brooklyn 99.

I think it’s one of the funniest TV series on Netflix.

'Daredevil' and co may live yet!!

I'd forgotten that Disney had accosted the Hulu streaming service!

I hear Disney will turn Hulu into an 'adult' steaming service and unshackle the series into 'R' rated superhero programming.

Those shows may well be back sooner than I thought!
@Thorin Oakenshield and myself had a bit of a natter about that. We agreed this was the best way to go in order to avoid the politics hurting some of their IP. I wonder how many films were actually good they got cold feat about for some stupid selfish, likely bonus related, reason. Just look at the marketing for Dredd, lionsgate, EFD in the UK, rubbish. No idea if it was Disney who ultimately who owned Dredd then but that is what they want to avoid and this helps. They can to an extent wash their hands of any dealings with r-related stuff and point to whoever they get in to run it should middle America complain.

The r-rated people can also get on with the job free of having to worry about sensibilities. They have already shifted Katherine Kennedy upstairs where she can't do any more damage to the Star Wars brand. This would be two very good decisions in quick order from Disney.

Not sure why they gave Kennedy and Johnson an already established franchise to use as a vehicle for their own political agendas. I hope they learn from that and say to these people go and make an indi film or that they will fund the film; However it has to be off the sweat of their own back, no more jumping on well established franchises. I think with moving Kennedy though they may have learned that lesson. Johnson i think, will not be getting any offers to direct and/or write anymore big franchise films any time soon either.
