I have a flight in 6 hours and can't sleep so I am watching a series on you tube made by readers digest, narrated by Charlton Heston and titled 'Great People Of The Bible' if this doesn't send me to sleep there's no hope for me.
Just finished watching 'The Vietnam War', (Netflix) by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick.
I thought I knew a bit about it, having read a fair few books on the subject, but there was tons of new stuff in this series that I never had any knowledge of.
It covers the politicking, within the area, as well as at home in the US, leadership changes, coups, secret deals, fascinating stuff, as well as footage, maps, interviews with combatants and civvies, the effect it had on their lives and those left at home.
Well worth watching, if you like that sort of thing.
'Unbelievable'. Really powerful true story about a young girl who is raped and then not believed by the police and the people around her. Then the subsequent investigation into a serial rapist. Brilliantly made and really emotional. 9/10
Yeah, I agree.
First thing I thought about was not realising the sheer amount of things a victim has to go through with police and hospitals.
It brought my lip service sympathy to rape into sharp focus.
It's a horrendous thing women go through in aftermath.
Not just women, bro
True and whilst the examination for men will hold its own personal shame, the thought of men asking a bunch of repeated questions bothered me.
Why not send women?
Depends how deep you want to go on a psychological level..... it’s a little similar to the premise of female criminal profilers, they are the go to now for male serial killers!
