Freeman is great but I really don’t believe his character would be on the frontline while he was undergoing counseling, and his friendship with Carl was scarcely credible. And Rachel's relationship with that nutter boyfriend? Utter nonsense. Better than Line of Duty, though, and Carl has a lovely stereotypical Harry Enfield-esque Scouse perm.

The Responder on BBC1 (yes I know). Martin Freeman an astonishing performance. If you can get past the scouser accents its a gritty taught thriller based on real life police officer.

Never realised how good Martin Freeman is. Excellent.
