TV Series

I haven't read the books and I was going off people raving about the show.

A lesson I should have learned by now...

Ah. Yeah, like I said earlier in the thread, I don’t think it stands alone well. I don’t think it’s meant too though, it’s absolutely playing to the audience of those that have read the books.

Wish I would have known that before watching it tbh.

On another note, I watched Two with Martin Freeman recently.
Responder and A confession. Bothe good and worth watching.

A bit stupid and niche, if that's the case.

An ex military guy rocks up, speaks any language, works out almost every crime scene and never had a bad case.

All kinds of 'nah' for me.

Having watched all eight episodes of Jack Reacher, I fail to see what all the hype is about. It was nowt special.
It was all about him taking his Tshirt off

Not sure it is niche, it’s got a huge audience it’s playing to and isn’t going after those that haven’t read the books. It’s not meant to be realistic in the slightest.

Reacher did have a made for daytime tv feel about it yeah. It reminded me of the plot for Banshee a little in its core story arc but without that fresh feel. Some of it was just frustrating to as things happened just because they wanted it to. I won't go into to much detail yet as many still won't have seen it.

If i am honest i found myself getting more and more dissapointed as it went on. Very generic and i got caught with the sunken cost fallacy i think. It was not terrible or even bad, just so very vanilla an uninspired.

I want to like it but as time goes on when i think about it i just feel meh. If he used his ability to read people throughout as he did in the first episode when they wanted to show you he is a smart chap this series would be done and dusted by episode 4.

I will shut up now as the more i think about it the worse it gets in my head, if that makes any sense.

Was thinking S4 of Gomorrah was their best yet, up until the last 2 episodes when they suddenly totally shat the bed.

Don't know if I can be fucked with s5 anymore. Back to rinse repeat with a swapped in new big character.

Might give l'immortale a go for a bit of a a side break, see what pep's been up to behind the scenes.

Reacher was just ok, I thought he was a bit wooden being so fucking big not as agile as little Tom
