TV Series

No, the film happens at the same time as season 4 doesn't it.

Which is after season 3.

But we are being pedantic. Appreciate the suggestion, worked well and enjoyed it more.

I've gone straight into s5 off the back of it, worked through the first 2 episodes.

Can exchange views at key bits in a spoiler proof way.

The books are hugely popular so not even close to being niche.

He's also an ex Military POLICE guy so crime scenes were his job.

I can only remember him speaking English, French and Arabic(?) in the series so hardly 'any language'.

His father was American, his mother French and he was raised in and served in the military all over the world so speaking multiple languages is hardly a stretch. An awful lot of footballers speak multiple languages and they're not thought to be that bright generally.
Agreed.Given the characters background and specialisation, not at all far fetched.

The only problem with the series was the woodenness, but again,is that not in keeping with the characters and the tone?

I enjoyed it overall,and i look forward to S2 and beyond....8/10

Looking forward to watching this. Feels more in line with the book than the movies (though to be fair i didn't mind the movies - just Cruise was so out of sync with Reacher).

Just switch off and enjoy some violence, very well choreographed and realistic violence, and a very easy on the eye sidekick/love interest.

Proper boys stuff ;-)

I wasn't convinced by Malcolm Goodwin as Oscar Findlay TBH, he played it a little bit too much for comedy value.

Reacher is tv made for sitting back and not overthinking what’s playing out in front of you.
I doubt the director or producers were attempting anything new or trying to appeal to people who like to find hidden meanings and subtle sub plots etc.
Not everything has to have depth and nuance that requires deep thought.
Sometimes a series is basically what it says on the tin.
The acting in parts was a bit ropey but overall it was exactly the kind of series I can enjoy chilling out with a smoke at the end of the night.
