TV Series

I finished watching Emily in Paris yesterday. I really enjoyed watching it and already wait for the second season. I also liked that it's half english / half french, and I understand both.

Ipcress file on itv looks promising
Watched the first two and while I quite like the way it's filmed to appear like a late sixties early seventies TV show, I don't think they have cast the lead roles right, there's no rapport between Palmer and Courtney (her voice is annoying too) - the other Joe Cole might have been better ;). It all feels very lightweight, as well. The story seems to be moving too fast if anything, creating a lack of any suspense, characters are in and out within half an episode. Feels more like a reboot of The New Avengers to me, half expecting Hollander to be wearing a bowler hat and carrying an umbrella before too long.

And I wish they'd stop using Le Mans Crescent in Bolton for TV shows!

Probably the only one on here, but I don't tend to watch much new TV, particularly on ppv tv. These days with streams, I can watch all sorts but the only show most here will have watched is Boba Fett, which was ok, nothing more.

I am definitely becoming a FOC as I watch Talking Pictures TV, which does often have cult films on especially at the weekend presented by Caroline Munro, who's still rather lovely.

Also watch Forces TV, where they're currently showing Classic Doctor Who daily. Showed 2 Jon Pertwee's, 5 Tom Baker's and started on Peter Davison. From 1982 they're showing Kinda, fantastic story with Nerys Hughes as well as Jeff Stewart and Simon Rouse from the Bill, as well as Richard Todd!

Tomorrow Earthshock featuring the return of the Cybermen then 1984s Caves of Androzani. Colin Baker's Vengeance on Various starts next week. They show 2 episodes a day repeated 3 times and a weekend omnibus.

What I've rediscovered on Forces TV is a late 80s romantic comedy show Watching. Forgot how much I loved this, mainly for Emma Wray, despite her thick Scouse brogue! Anyway just killing time till kick-off!

Some good channels on Freeview. I think a lot of modern TV tries too hard to be different and I only watch one or two things really. Usually they end up flogging a dead horse and don’t finish up the show soon enough (Billions, The Last Kingdom, Peaky Blinders etc), the initial magic has gone. I’m worried that Succession might go the same way tbh. When I look back, it’s the shows that ended after 2 or 3 series that I liked the most, such as Life on Mars.

We loved Watching too, I might try and catch that. Malcolm married another woman in that show and that actress in real life is married to the 5th Doctor, Peter Davison (just to make a connection).

Correct 3 to 4 seasons with a proper ending is the way to go for tv shows! Problem is if they doing so good viewing why’s they just keep churning out average seasons!
