Finale of boardwalk was so so. It showed how it had run it's course really

Yeah i thought the same, a really good ending gives you closure and a feeling of wanting a bit more (like Luther for example). Overall Boardwalk has been good probably peaked around series 3 but this final series didnt really go anywhere and could have been a bit better plus a bit more explosive in the end. Hopefully SOA will finish better but i'm not really expecting it to.

Just finished watching Boardwalk Empire and got to agree with both of you. Very disappointing final season. It seems to happen quite a lot, The Wire and The Sopranos are my favourite TV series of all time and yet I was very disappointed in both final seasons which were, in my view, not a patch on what had gone before. Or is it just that shows like these set such high standards it becomes impossible to maintain that quality over such a long time?

I have just started on Game of Thrones, on episode 8 of season 1, anyone else struggle like fuck to know who belongs to what family and who is a real son/daughter and who is loyal to who etc etc. it is good but a tad confusing.

If you think the series is confusing I wouldn't bother with the books.

I got through the first three without too much bother although I was losing the plot towards the end of the third. But the fourth has baffled me completely.

I like with the books how each chapter is about one charachter as it helps really get to know the people in it as each chapter dedicates serious pages to that person, though quite now i end up skimming chapters about Brianne or the onion knight. In the programme it can be a bit confusing at first understanding the charachters as there is a lot of skipping around.

Not read the books and i did find the first series a bit of a head fuck, there are so many characters in it, i was leant it by a mate on DVD and as soon as i finished i started again, the following series havent been an issue.

Considering the detail the books go into i think they have done an incredible job of creating the series in line with the books. Every now and then the programme differs from the books but in general it depicts them extremely well.

I had the same issue, it'll become easier to follow at some point. Probably beginning-mid season 2.

Currently watching the second series of the Scandinavian Bridge. It's very good, better than the first IMO.
