TV Series

Just watched the last episode of The Penguin.

I did not expect that ending!!

Story, cast and acting was superb throughout.
Now it’s finished I can binge it, have been looking forward to it.
The Jackal watched the first four so far it’s good story but I find Redmayne a strange actor, he doesn’t have much facial range it seems stool in a blank expression.
The Old Man, finished second season and it was ok but had better potential.

So good. Up there with some of the best series of recent times imo..

The acting is first class.

I know it's your opinion, but only one person's acting was "first class". The rest were B and C TV actors running to keep up and, therefore, made it watchable to a constant level.

I can't think of another person more suited to the lead that would have made the show what it was. There are people (some on here), a few weeks ago, that compared the role to 'Tony Soprano' and I thought that was very disrespectful for what was Farrell was doing and creating.

You don't think Cristin Milioti was also first class? I was mainly focusing on the lead characters but I think there were several excellent portrayals throughout, even those who weren't in the series for long.

Farrell will surely scoop up a raft of awards.

Mm.

I don't think I found her convincing. I thought there was more depth to find, but she didn't get there. If I saw this version of her character in the film, she would stick out like a sore thumb.

But she's very on parr with the other supporting actors in the show in my opinion.

I enjoyed the Penguin but didn't think it was quite as good as the reviews made out. I like others thought Cristin Miloti was the best thing going for it.

The scene in the last episode when Oz escapes from being bound to the chair and straight in the car was really silly.

We'll have to disagree on that one!

Day of the Jackal is very good, seen 4 episodes so far, but has got very little in common with Frederick Forsyth novel and Edward Fox film. Series is good but don’t know why it got that title as the only think they have in common is an assassin code-named Jackal, bugger all else.
