Anyone that enjoyed Ric Mayalls Flash in Blackadder (woof), will love Nicholas Holts version of Peter, Emperor of Russia in ‘The Great’ on Ch 4. Really funny. The story of Catherine the Great of Russia starring Hoult and Elle Fanning, not so much the usual historical drama style, more sex, drugs and rocknroll and very very tasteless but rollicking good fun.

a taste of dialogue;

Peter III of Russia: I am of gentle heart and massive c*ck.

Peter III of Russia: Women are for seeding, not reading!



Catherine the Great: Man will never be free until the last king is strangled by the entrails of the last priest.

Peter III of Russia: Are you pregnant?

Catherine the Great: No.

Peter III of Russia: Annoying.



Catherine the Great: I'm a prisoner here married to an idiot.

Peter III of Russia: Toosh.

Catherine the Great: Do you mean "touché?"

It's a French Netflix show btw but don't know if it's avaialable in the UK. Probably is.

Yes it is available in the UK. This is next up on our list after "The Minions of Midas", a 6-part Spanish series that we have nearly finished.

Can't make my mind up on "The Minions of Midas" - it has all the hallmarks of a good scandi drama, but there are parts that really drag without much happening.

Just make sure it has more than 5 episodes available as that's all I've been able to source so far and episode 5 ends with a cliff-hanger.
 
Wandavision. Unorthodox Marvel series but at least it's not formulaic - just impossible to ascertain where they intend to go with it. Strange is my initial impression and not in a compelling I want to see what happens next way
 
Finished off watching the 2nd series of Eli Roth's History of Horror. Each episode takes a look at a certain section of horror movies and features various people such as Stephen King, Rob Zombie, Greg Nicotero and some cast members/director's talking about the influences and effects the films had on them. Made me laugh when they censored the nudity despite showing plenty of gore in the clips they used.

Yes, I would agree with this view.

For me, I've always hated 'canned laughter' with a passion and I felt it was overdone and lessoned my potential enjoyment of the show.

Personally I found 'Legion' a really great example of weird/ madness in a super powered world.

I'm sure the show won't be using the laughter track through the whole series and it should get better!

Your positive mention of it, and the many intriguing reviews, have piqued my interest.
So, I’ve stuck it on my ‘watch soon’ list and I’ll give it a go as soon as there’s a full season available to feast on.
 
The looming tower. Really enjoyed it. Dramatization of the events leading up to 9/11 from an American intelligence perspective and how the tragedy might have been averted If the CIA had shared info with the FBI.
will Have to read up to see how true to events it was. Mind boggling if accurate.

So for someone who has only a very basic knowledge/passing interest in Marvel, would Wandavision go over my head, looks good I want to watch it.
 
Those that watch and like the expanse. How long did it take you to get into it?
