TV Series

Loved Last Kingdom. One of the best series I've seen in a while, one that you miss when you've watched them all.

Watched Lupin over the weekend. Thought it was great. Word of warning; only half of it has been released. I wish I'd have known beforehand as I would have waited for the summer when the rest is due to be released and watched it all then.

Yeah I'm missing it badly that's why I've gone straight onto Vikings haha.

Keep with it. Finished the whole thing a month or so ago. Its excellent. I hear you on the accent though, the girl snoop, is completely undecipherable.
She was a real life drug dealer who'd also been in prison for 2nd degree murder. As authentic as it could get.

The end irritated me too as I didn’t know it was a split series.

Wires great, got a simple tip after I watched all of them put the subtitles apparently makes a huge difference

I've tried to watch this a few times, got as far as S1 ep6 but the Baltimore dialect is murder to understand.
That's as far as I ever get.

Hm, that's weird to me.

When you've been involved with American Hip Hop and rap as a way of life, you get to hear all kinds of accents and you only miss stuff when you're not listening/ attuned to what they're saying with all the slang and clipped words (Bones, Thugz 'N' Harmony being a case in point!).

I find it all easy to follow but can appreciate when people, not immersed in the culture, can struggle!

I’m just half way through series 2 of the wire. I have to admit I don’t catch all the dialogue but that seems to be the case with any American shows I watch. Subtitles would probably be a good idea if it wasn’t for my cataracts rendering them redundant

If anyone is interested, ep1 of the reboot of 'The Equalizer' is out.

I'm going to have a watch soon, myself, to see if they go the Edward Woodward route or the Denzel one!

Haha!

When it said it was going to get a reboot I had no doubt it was going to be a women as the main character. Not watched the first episode yet but it for a B in the ratings.

I have just seen they have Queen Latifa as the main character, how TF is she going to do any action sequences and make it look believable?! I think i'll wait for you guys to watch it first!

Wow! I did not know QL was in the main role!

Well, I'm a supporter of gender-bending IF it adds to the character or the role, so I have to have the courage of my convictions and give it a watch!

After all, 'The Equalizer' doesn't have a gender assigned to the name, just an assumption.

To be fair Edwood Woodard wasn’t a spring chicken.
