TV Series

Watched Landscapers. 4 episodes, in length with the girl out of Peepshow. The nazi dad from the boy with the striped pyjamas is in it too. Offbeat and entertaining.
Yeah I thought Landscapers was excellent. I decided to give it a go because it had Olivia Colman and HBO picked up the rights or co-produced. I thought David Thewlis was really good in it too as was the supporting cast.

I don't really watch that many TV Shows but Landscapers, Invincible and Clarkson's Farm, the last two both Prime Video, were all top class imo.

I also watched Season 1 of 'Foundation' (Apple TV+) but won't be watching Season 2 unless their is a big jump in overall quality.

Saw Hellbound on Netflix. There has been a lot of talk about this, but I knew very little about it beforehand. Enjoyed it more than I thought I would have. It seems sin is the central theme: who defines it, who commits it, and who makes a judgement of it. The first half was a social commentary of sin in contemporary times, and the second half was a comedy of the absurd. I guess any follow-on season would be of the thriller type. Clearly, though, this series is suitable only for mature audiences.

Sooo much stuff on Now TV I can finally catch up on.
Think I'm sorted for months now.

I'd not even finished Game Of Thrones, so finally polishing that off (and what wonderfully enjoyable show this was/is).
Feels right watching it at the moment, cold outside...shitshow out there too.

Just concluded the last ever Gomorrah and speechless, magnifico…. Greatest ever show 9.9999/10

Many thanks for letting us know that it was already out. Thought it wasn’t going to be released until early 2022.

If you are feeling a bit bereft, Romanzo Criminale is of a similar standard.

Il Cacciatore (The Hunter) is also worth checking out.

Then there’s Suburra. The movie is better than the series (which is blatantly trying to imitate Gomorrah) but both are entertaining.

Finally, all five seasons of Narcos are also very impressive too, especially the ones set in Mexico.

Yeah, watched them already pal, adore romanzo criminale, total hidden gem that for people who love Gomorrah…

Enjoy the conclusion of this series, like most shows winding to an end, it won’t satisfy everyone, however, for me it was a beautiful conclusion to what has been an epic piece of tv!

I am watching Yellowstone right now, and frankly speaking, current season is much weaker than I'd expected, for seven episodes not a single important event happened, it cannot even be compared with the previous season. In general, the fact that the entire Dutton family was able to survive without casualties after the end of the third season makes the subject very unrealistic, it is a quite difficult to worry about the lives of characters who have a such solid plot armor from the authors .

I watched 5 and 6 last night and am still of the opinion this series is a step down from what has gone before. I find the writing and dialogue a little less convincing, some of the casting decisions bizzare. 'lil monk' I'm talking to you. Some of the story arc contrived. I am still enjoying it but not in the same omg way I did before. Glad you think the conclusion works. I look forward to seeing it.

Started wattching "World War II in Color The Road To Victory" on Netflix last night. Watched the first 3 and it's quite decent. Each episode looks at a key event in the war.

Enjoyed this, a dark and funny series. The ending did have my wife and myself just looking at each other a little bewildered though.

Probably because there is two more books from the author Daniel Cole to make into season 2 next book is a hangman.

Ahh, I intended to look up if there was going to be another series. Cheers.

I’ve just embarked on this today mate.

Absolutely buzzing to have it back.
It won’t please everyone but to churn that out with the global landscape the way it is, I thought it was brilliant… I get a few noting repetition but that’s been the arc of the story since the beginning…. Be interested to see your thought when complete!

I remember this sort of conflicted opinion when the sopranos concluded, but all things have to come to an end and although I get the sentiment, I loved the way it was wrapped up!

I think they loosely based the Lil Monk character on the Irish gangster Gerry the Monk Hutch. Well how he looks at least. If you Google him you will know what I mean!
