TV Series

Obi wan, exactly as I expected considering it has little lee way with most of his life already canon and a decent show

And those that moan about leias portrayal as annoying well let's be fair she was pretty whiney and snarky in a new hope and first half of empire.

We own this city, promising start, enjoyed it.

Leia’s the best part of the show. The young actress is brilliant. Also a perfect portrayal of what Leia would have been like as a child.

I suppose 'Star Wars' has always been poorly written, so should be no different now.

I think you're gonna hate 'Andor' since it's pre "Rogue One", which was the best writing of all the franchise.

To be honest I’d say Empire Strikes Back was the best written piece of Star Wars media. It’s a genuinely brilliant film in its own right and not just a piece of good Star Wars. Comfortably one of the best ‘blockbuster’ movies of all time in my view. A New Hope deserves credit for how groundbreaking it was but Empire basically carries the rest of the franchise on its back.

My problem is that I watched The West Wing for the first time a decade ago, and nothing since has come close, so I just watch that one series over and over again. Been through and least twenty times now, never get bored of it.

West Wing is very good, perhaps best in its niche.

But other shows are fantastic too.

As a West Wing fan, perhaps you'd like The Patriot on Amazon. In the clip below one of the actors uses a series of made-up-for-the-show nonsensical jargon. The befuddled expression on the shows protagonist - Lakeman - after hearing this is priceless.

Another new, awesome show, on Amazon Prime, is Undone. The show is fantastic. Featuring a main character who is looking into the mysterious loss of her father some years ago - and who is possibly suffering from mental disease and hallucinations. The show features Bob Odenkirk of Better Call Saul fame as the deceased father. In the scenes below, the protagonist female is hard of hearing - you'll see her equipping a special hearing device in some footage.

The cut scenes don't do justice to the Undone series - watch the first few episodes I think it'll rapidly become one of your favorite shows.

Finally, there's River. Simply sublime. About a grieving cop who lost his partner but can't let go of her. The actors are superb, the story gripping - simply put - this is one of my favorite shows of all time. Watch this - you'll love it.

Well it's very kind of you to take the time to reply with suggestions. I shall check them out, and if any of them get close to Sorkin's masterpiece then I will be very pleasantly surprised.

Cheers - start with River. Watch the first, say 2 episodes, it's a bit slow to get going. River is in my top 2 or 3 shows of all time.
