TV Series

I’m watching We Own This City.

The Wire is, in my opinion the greatest work of television ever and among the greatest works of fiction ever. Just pure 10/10 stuff.

For me TV goes:

The Wire
The Sopranos / The West Wing

Everything Else.

This is right up there though. The realism made even more real by the fact it’s a true story.

I can see why some people would find the short scenes and timeline jumps irritating but once you getting into its unique flow you get the hang of it.

Sublime television. Brilliant to see so much of the Wire cast back together. And the jazz theme music is fantastic.

Have you watched The Deuce? Made by same people. Nobody saw it. Literally nobody. IMO it’s better than The Wire.

Has anyone else seen any episodes of 'The Offer? Drama about the making of the The Godfather film?

Its not on in the UK yet, but by the power of the Internet I've managed to watch the first few. Have to say its really well done. A must watch if you're a fan of the film and interested in what behind the scenes Hollywood was like back then.
Am currently laid up ill and so watched all 10 episodes yesterday.

It doesn’t seem to have gone down all that well with the critics but I enjoyed it.

Another good one is the Irish crime/noir series Kin.

I've not had chance to watch any more since my post, but hope to watch a couple this evening. I've not read any reviews, so will have to look in to those. Glad you enjoyed it though.

Yeah, I've watched Kin as well, thought that was very good. Gripping and an excellent cast.

Hope you're feeling better soon.

The Lazarus Project

George, who begins to re-live time after witnessing the world end. He is recruited into an organization that harnesses this power to prevent global catastrophes, but goes rogue in a bid to save the woman he loves.

Big fan of the time travel genre (i know plot holes and stupidity everywhere) from being a kid. Totally enjoyed 8 episodes on the bounce. The love angle is played too hard but a decent amount of action involved also. If you are a pick the shit out of a story person it isn't for you, if you have no problems just enjoying sci fi, you probably will like it.

I watched an episode of this earlier. The light hearted quips and silly slow motion car crash special effects are really cringey. Does it get better?

Think they’ve copied the opening theme music and graphics from the brilliant prison series Oz, I’m recording it atm but just can’t get into it, the timeline jumps are too frequent imo
