Just finished sugar ,Colin Farrell, decent 7/10 won't give anything thing away its about a PI in LA .
I enjoyed that too.Just finished sugar ,Colin Farrell, decent 7/10 won't give anything thing away its about a PI in LA .
The first point nails it for me. I started on the books with GOT and it was chapters of Tyrion, Arya, Jon, danerys, back to Tyrion and so on. I thought they reflected that really well in the programme as well and that worked so well making it so engaging. HOTD just doesn’t have that. There are couple of major differences between GOT and HOTD.
In the former you sometimes had maybe up to half a dozen different stories going on within the bigger picture. The latter is just about a feuding family (only watched two episodes in series two).
Secondly in GOT you had easily identifiable good guys and baddies everywhere. In HOTD this is far less prevalent.
Just two simple reasons for me although I enjoy watching Rhys Ifans in HOTD.
Sneaked under the radar for most people…..definitely worth a watchJust finished sugar ,Colin Farrell, decent 7/10 won't give anything thing away its about a PI in LA .
Same as the first series then? Dont think I'll bother.6 episodes into house of dragons series 2 and if I’m honest I’m totally bored with it. I think the characters are pretty drab and boring and literally nothing happens. Very disappointed with it.
Just finished The Gentlemen, it was pretty well rated but I found it to be watered down tosh by Ritchie.
You watched The Wire or even Oz, two brilliant series.Did full lot of Sopranos earlier in the year.
Started Breaking Bad again a few weeks ago. On last season now.
Two of the best shows ever made.
OZ as in Ozarks? If so I have the last season to watch, and can’t be bothered to watch it for some reason. You watched The Wire or even Oz, two brilliant series.
Nah Oz is a prison drama - the first major HBO TV show. Essentially maybe the very first show of the Second Golden Age of TV. Came out in 1997 I believe. Haven't seen it yet myself but on my list.OZ as in Ozarks? If so I have the last season to watch, and can’t be bothered to watch it for some reason.
The Wire I tried to get into but couldn’t. This was years ago when my kids were still at home so didn’t really get time. Might try and find it again.
I’ll definitely try and find it again as I remember what I could watch it was good. As you say though - no distractions.Nah Oz is a prison drama - the first major HBO TV show. The Wire is a show you need to really focus on - you cannot half-watch it with your phone next to you.
Definitely. I watched it 10 years ago and I am due a rewatch.I’ll definitely try and find it again as I remember what I could watch it was good. As you say though - no distractions.

Didn’t fancy this at first but I’m going to start with Series 1 tomorrow when the Test is rained off…..The Freddie Flintoff Cricket one on BBC where he takes the kids to India on tour. If you didn’t watch series one, catch up with it on iplayer. It’s a superb bit of TV.
