TV Series

So good. Up there with some of the best series of recent times imo..

The acting is first class.

I know it's your opinion, but only one person's acting was "first class". The rest were B and C TV actors running to keep up and, therefore, made it watchable to a constant level.

I can't think of another person more suited to the lead that would have made the show what it was. There are people (some on here), a few weeks ago, that compared the role to 'Tony Soprano' and I thought that was very disrespectful for what was Farrell was doing and creating.

You don't think Cristin Milioti was also first class? I was mainly focusing on the lead characters but I think there were several excellent portrayals throughout, even those who weren't in the series for long.

Farrell will surely scoop up a raft of awards.

Mm.

I don't think I found her convincing. I thought there was more depth to find, but she didn't get there. If I saw this version of her character in the film, she would stick out like a sore thumb.

But she's very on parr with the other supporting actors in the show in my opinion.

I enjoyed the Penguin but didn't think it was quite as good as the reviews made out. I like others thought Cristin Miloti was the best thing going for it.

The scene in the last episode when Oz escapes from being bound to the chair and straight in the car was really silly.

We'll have to disagree on that one!

Day of the Jackal is very good, seen 4 episodes so far, but has got very little in common with Frederick Forsyth novel and Edward Fox film. Series is good but don’t know why it got that title as the only think they have in common is an assassin code-named Jackal, bugger all else.

Been waiting for all of The Penguin to be out before starting it as I'm more a binge watcher nowadays and struggle with a week between episodes.

Can’t wait, time to get cracking :)
I watched the first one today and steady start I’d say. I had to check about 5 times online that it really was Colin Farrel, just blows my mind. Looks more like Jonah hill that farrel.

Yeah I thought that when watching The Batman. Might actually watch that again before starting the tv series as only saw it once and can’t really remember much of it.

I hadn't watched the film. Decided to after watching episode 2 of the penguin.
Some stuff happens in the film that you get the aftermath off in the 3rd episode (and there is some back story in the film), but overall, not seeing the film shouldn't cause you to miss anything in the series.

I am watching that , scary it is a true story , the cops back then were so bad , i suppose i am comparing it with the police today

Also watching those who kill on the beeb . About a profiler who works with the police , four series , the fourth series is being shown at the moment . Each series is stand alone and with a different cast apart from her , her and one person from an earlier season are doing the fourth series

It is finish i think so subtitles , very good tv
It is not finish, the last two episodes are coming this Saturday....just joking! :) It is actually Danish, not to be confused with the same name TV series of 15 years ago. I would say it reached the quality of The Bridge and The Killing, Scandi-noir at its best!
