Andor! Wow what a last three episodes, I’ll be watching Rogue One tomorrow, those last shots coupled with the music, the best Star Wars since Rogue One, now why can they churn out shit like the Acolyte and then this is beyond me.

I think Disney had slated a whole roster of 'inclusive' filmmaking which, in itself, isn't bad thing... But to shoehorn inclusivity over storylines is what buried 'Star Wars' and other Marvel films. The fans had been saying it for a while.

I believe Zaslov, their CEO, went ballistic a year back at the trend and wanted story first worldbuilding. To be honest, I could see what some of the fans were saying but, as always, some toxic goons took over the viewpoint screaming about 'agendas'.

So okay, fair enough, Disney f'ked up in this regard, but it doesn't mean inclusivity can't happen as not everyone is White, straight and Alpha Males. But not everyone wants the opposing sentiments constantly shoved in faces if the story arc isn't affected.

Balance has to be found within the story.

Can't believe that it looks like a 2 year wait for S2 of The Eternaut. That's vile after where they left it at the end of S1.

Good post-apocalyptic show on Netflix if you like that sort of thing.

In a way I'm still shocked that 'Andor' is at the top of so many critics' TV viewing and, probably, it's in the region of 98% of everything I've seen cites it as the best TV show ever made! That's from the critics but, seemingly, 'Andor' is still not trending as a top watched TV show!

So, what's the disconnect for the viewer?

Is it 'Star Wars' fatigue...??

Watched the whole of The City is Ours, over the last three nights.

Not the best gangster series I’ve ever seen. But not bad at all.

Like most of these shows, if they make a second series, it’ll probably get gradually more and more ridiculous.

But I’d still probably watch it.

Watch The Game on channel 5. Knew as soon as I started e1 it was wank and it remained very wank through all 4. Something about channel 5 made shows that just oozes cheap wankyness.

I haven't watched it yet (beyond the first 10 minutes of episode 1 a few years back). I do intend to watch it because people speak super highly of it so I don't really want to watch it on my phone whilst I'm doing something else but that's just how I watch most stuff these days. I also like Rogue One

I am tired of the star wars and marvel stuff though and I didn't finish watching the Acolyte, Ashoka or Skeleton Crew and it took me several attempts to get through Obi Wan. Partly because I'm not a big enough fan to endure it :) part of me watched Ashoka and the Acolyte to see if they were as bad as people like Critical Drinker etc were claiming.

I'm probably a bit of an outlier because I liked The Last Jedi. I think my main problem with the recent Disney stuff isn't that they have an agenda (everything ever made or written has an agenda - a reason it was made and a message to convey) it's that they don't have enough story to develop properly - it's like they stick ideas on a whiteboard and think it's good enough. For example the Acolyte started as a kind of mystery thing then before it even developed properly it was revealed she was a twin. Then they have to force ideas in rather then let the story develop.

Based on a classic (ie. old) graphic novel. Made & set in Argentina by Netflix. Dubbing ain't great but it's watchable. I've not read the original story so don't know how the adaptation holds up but I do believe there are some changes to bring it up to date for the modern day audience.

Gonna post this here for the 'Andor' fans. Please don't watch if you're looking to catch up on the show.

Interesting things said from very good questions asked through the lens of interpretation from the cast. I didn't realise how much work the actors did themselves with the characters.

I did know about Tony Gilroy's passion and influence as it shows clearly and had heard about the original show length but didn't know what changed that.

Really enjoyed it, Spanish with subtitles is the only way to watch..

Binged it in 2 days. Good acting, cool plot.

Following quickly on the heels of Sean Bean's Sharpe ending its scheduled run on ITV4 HD. Today (Sunday May 18th) the same channel is starting the full series of Hornblower (1998-2003) on a weekly basis @ 11:30 am.

A televised series (8 films) based on a fictional British naval officer Horatio Hornblower as he rises through the ranks. Like Sharpe, it is set during the period of the French Revolution and Napoleonic Wars. Starring Ioan Gruffud in the lead role with Robert Lindsay, Paul McGann & Phillip Glenister.

Its like watching the film Master & Commander (2003) all over again. Hornblower is a damn good seafaring adventure of sea dogs and politics within the ranks, perfect for a Sunday morning TV viewing.

Edit: Bernard Cornwell, the author of Sharpe & The Last Kingdom novels was inspired to write the adventures of Major Richard Sharpe based on the original Hornblower books saying he wanted to write an British Army version of Horatio Hornblower.
