The best goal Maine Road had seen in a decade was an own goal that got voted goal of the season by QPR!

I wanted to be fuming, but I was so proud of Pollock the way he cushioned that header on the volley under pressure!

Abebayor didn’t score the goal that arguably saved Arsenal. And Dickov wasn’t reacting to songs from the City fans about his mother being a prostitute. And Dickov hadn’t just left City under a cloud, a few weeks earlier.

The two scenarios are different, save for players scoring against former clubs.

I personally didn’t have an issue with Dickov celebrating like that, the weirdness (for me) was the reaction of some City fans to someone who was widely considered to be a hero to many blues, not Dickov’s reaction, so you’re comparing apples to oranges.
