tyres

hi guys...need 2 x 205.50.r17's only a need budget tyres as only do around 3500 miles a year ( 2nd car )...can anyone recommend a decent and cheap garage around oldham/ tameside...or is there anyone on here in the trade and have a tyre place and do a blue a favour....thanks in advance

I tried some budget tyres once and they were shite and felt dangerous and don't buy tyres on line via ADSA, Blackcircles etc because if you have a problem they will not help you
Best thing is to search Tyreshopper (which is an on line company) and they use National Tyres as a fitter
Get your quote from Tyre shopper and then go to National Tyres and ask them to beat the quote or at least match it, which they will. They have numerous branches in Oldham and ashton

Looking at what you require, Avon have come in as the cheapest branded quality tyre at £82 each
If you really want a budget, you can pick them up at £45 each

Don't skimp on tyres, buy the best you can afford, they might save your life one day.
+1? Sage advice this.. even better, they might save other peoples lives. Anyway, it's about £45 for a new tyre isn't it? .. I doubt you'd get anything significantly cheaper.

I must admit that I used to buy cheap tyres, but I did many stupid things when I was younger. I even have a video clip of picking my newborn son up from hospital and he went straight into the back of the car on Mrs Stony's lap. No car seat, no seat belts but thankfully non of them died.
It's hard when you're on a budget and you're still trying to stay legal, but the extra money for tyres is one of the things that you really shouldn't skimp on. Braking distances, handling, performance in the wet, and the risk of high speed blow outs. It really isn't worth the risk.

Don't fuck around with bullshit cheap fucking tyres.....they're the only thing keeping that tin box with you and your family in travelling at 70mph connected to the road. Everyone has a budget, you don't have to buy Goodyear but don't buy shite....trust me, i'm a Doctor

Glodwick tyres, Oldham

Agree you should avoid budget tyres, but there's nothing wrong with mid range tyres like Falken, Hankook or Kumho. With premium tyres like Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear etc you're paying for the name but they're not necessarily worth the extra.
