U*****s financial mess

Why was Lehman Bros sunk?
My question is why or how will Glazers et al be able to survive?

Now that they are out of the FA cup what happens if they are out of the CL?
Will the Scums continue a downward spiral (without CR and Tevez this season) with their aging 'stars' and young 'starlets' and probably with a decimated defence corp? Without Vidic and Rooney. Selling of the crown jewels?

Any refinancing package or bond issue will have to contend and factor in with the above uncertainty.
Any new funds will go towards paying down the senior bank lenders. Right?

Credits have eased up? I beg to differ! All or most of the financial instruments (Lehman Bros, AIG financial Products etc) that were called have dried up or fatigued or being played out. Waiting for a Govt. bailout?

You're looking at a very worst case scenario that is unlikely to happen. Downward spiral? They've won 3 Premier Leagues on the bounce and currently sit second in the league. Sounds alright to me.

As much as us lot on here won't like it, them getting to the Carling Cup Final, beating Milan in the Champions League and finishing first or second in the Premier League is a more likely scenario than the one you describe.

They have to maintain a certain level of performance in order to remain financially viable, and at the moment they are doing so. Yes, it will get harder and harder for them in the coming years as their players continue to age without being adequately replaced, but to expect financial Armageddon for them this season is way off the mark in my opinion.
