UAP/UFO thread - Non-Human Intelligences

If one day governments were to say, "Hello everyone. It's time to reveal the truth: there was a civilization before the Ice Age, and UFOs are real," many of those who currently mock such topics would then say, "The governments are lying!"

Just like when dinosaur fossils first began to emerge (and be identified) in the 19th century—at first, people claimed they were fake. Then, when it became undeniable, some said, "God put them there to test us. earth is still 6000 years old"

Yesterday, while watching Lex Fridman with Graham Hancock on YouTube, I found out that the second season of Ancient Apocalypse has been released. I watched the first two episodes and plan to watch the rest today. I didn’t see much new in the first two episodes, and they felt a bit forced (i mean, no new info. Maybe it felt that way to me because I’m already familiar with the developments). By the way, I really like Hancock.
However, I noticed that the distinct expression on Graham Hancock's face has become even more pronounced. The look on his face says, "Man, I’m so tired... With such obvious evidence of pre-Ice Age civilizations, how is this still not accepted? I’m exhausted."
It makes me laugh a little, but I also feel sorry for him.

Graham Hancock is a conman. Lucky for him, today's society is absolutely brimming with complete chumps who will believe anything if it makes a good enough story.

He has no formal education in archaeology or anthropology, and frankly it's absurdly obvious that he hasn't got a clue what he's talking about. Netflix love it though, because nobody is actually going to look up the things he says that are just complete bullshit, they'll watch along and uncritically take everything he says as fact.

If you actually want to learn about the real mysteries of the ancient world and the gaps in our knowledge (of which there are many - the bronze age collapse being the most obvious example), follow somebody who has dedicated their life to studying the subject, not a journalist who has spent his life making up fairy tales. He's not a serious scientist looking for truth, he's the world's most obvious grifter looking to make a quick buck from the kind of people who think Joe Rogan is actually worth listening to.

as an academician, I don't place much importance on having an academic background in most disciplines. . esp fields like archeology or history etc (social sciences and humanities lets say- sure i respect positive sciences 99%). Perhaps it's because I've been in academia for 25 years (just calculated, it is 27, shit time is passing fast) that I've grown to despise it anyway, thanks for the advice.

is randal carlson a serious scienticst you think? he pursued higher education in geology. i like him.

ps: i visit google scholar many times a day, not only for my job but also to check for the recent academic papers about the stuff i saw in documentaries like ancient apocalypse etc..

Keep the fantasy alive, mate. That's the spirit.

I haven't stated which belief I adhere to in this forum, have I :). I'm not sure which fantasy you're referring to. but cheers. life is fantasy anyway.

ps:
I don’t blindly believe in anything. Let me give you an example. Prof. Dr. Erkcan Özcan is not a friend of mine, but we’ve met before. same age. He has a Stanford Physics PhD and is now at Boğaziçi University. worked at CERN between 2007-2012. He’s probably the person I respect the most in life.

I used to have doubts about the 1969 Moon landing. :) My friends would tease me about it, but I did have questions—mainly about the footage. You’re probably familiar with the topic.

Erkcan Özcan analyzed the motions of objects in the Moon landing footage and mathematically proved on a board that the movements of the objects were entirely consistent with the Moon's gravitational force. I saw this two years ago and said, "Okay, this proof is enough for me. The Moon landing is real."

So, there’s nothing I blindly believe in. I just like to explore the arguments from both sides. As I mentioned, I haven’t stated which perspective I lean toward in this discussion either. Honestly, I’m also interested in following what people think about these topics.

Anyway, the Gala match is about to start. Let me focus on that. I've been quite chatty today.

Wishing you all the best tonight.
Cheers!
