UAP/UFO thread - Non-Human Intelligences

They visited us, saw that they were near Wythenshawe, and fucked off back home with the promise of never to return.
Top respect for the aliens, though; they could have landed anywhere...imagine the chaos if they landed in Piccadilly Gardens? No...they landed at...the AIRPORT! Clearly a civilized species.

Carroll's article is excellent. Thanks for posting it.
Apologies Zen - was the way I formatted my post - that article wasn't written by Sean Carroll, I just posted it directly after referencing it.

This was one of the takes from Carroll I was talking about:

I really like how Sean Carroll makes science (especially quantum science) palatable in a way others can't quite manage (although our own Brian Cox is a dab hand at that too).

Recently purchased this btw (recommended by someone I worked with who did a PHD in astrophysics).
I'll get reading as soon as I'm settled (I moved home recently).

He has podcasts available on You Tube, Mindscape I/V's with experts in their field & Ask me anything, - does what it says on the tin, both good.

I’ll have a read of his book.

I bet there's some interesting reading there (as you do indeed say!).

Just not sure what phenomena is out there that can't (with some grunt foresnic work) be explained away.

Abductions seems quite archaic now.

Sean Carroll has a quite sober take on this and this article is worth a read:

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/why-we-probably-wont-find-aliens-anytime-soon/#:~:text=If their home worlds are, appears to be exceedingly unlikely.

That recent Brian Cox series abnout our solar system was really interesting. Our solar system alone has likely (certainly?) a ratio of half a light year (edge of the oort cloud).
EDIT: more like 2 light years away - probably meant half the distance to our nearest star.

"It would take Voyager 1 about 300 years to reach the inner edge of the Oort Cloud, and possibly another 30,000 years to exit the far side"
Brian Cox changed his mind recently on finding life on other planets he used to be adamant this was the only planet.
I like Sean Carroll he spends his life on writing down numbers/equations and string theory, he must have a brilliant brain. It’s not easy to follow his reasoning but I always try. :)

See how patiently Sean listens to the questions all of the top scientists do this they listen to the question and we learn from their answers.

Are we all ready for today’s alien invasion?

Have you stocked up on food, water and porn? The experts say today is the day we get invaded.

Right before we get to put an end to this shitty run v Forest. Fuck off ALF.
