Uefa allow La Liga games to be played abroad | Plan for Villarreal v Barcelona in Miami scrapped (p3)

How will this generate loads of money for these leagues?

Is American Football more popular here now because a couple of games are played over here?

I watched the arsenal vs city game on a Fire TV Stick and they had hundreds of both sets of fans in a fan zone
it was crazy stuff and they were mad for it, The Premier League is Very Big in the States, i can see Super Sunday games happening and it being an all day show with live bands playing like Oasis before City facing United in the superdome

Yes, significantly so. There was even talk of one of the US franchises moving to London because of the appetite to watch the NFL in this country.

The Superbowl was watched by around 3.4m people in the UK. Which is nearly double the viewing figures for PL games in the US despite the much larger population. The FA Cup final peak audience was around 5-6 million (I can't find the exact figures) so it's grown pretty significantly.
Interesting. The time differences might be partly responsible for the lower numbers in the US.

How many Americans watched the World cup final? Guess that’s the equivalent match.

Like rugby league do up in Newcastle, just in the US?

Better not be in thunderstorm season, or super Sunday would become a super week.

And yet the London Monarchs failed miserably due to lack of interest

Fans want to watch the NFL not a cheap imitation. See Muppets across the globe who watch the Prem, La Liga, Serie A etc but couldn't find their favoured team's ground on a map. And yes, I'm aware we are getting more and more fans who would fail that test.

These other leagues are so far behind the premier league in terms of money they’ve become desperate. Newly promoted teams from the championship can afford bigger wages and transfers fees than top 4 sides in other European leagues.

I wonder what match-going Spanish fans think about it. I'd like to believe they're dead against it but I'm sure some will accept the argument that La Liga needs more cash, and others will accept it unless the move involves the team they support.

The thing is though people watch the Super Bowl because it’s an even and a lot of people watch it for the half time show.
Fewer people watch matches outside of that, an when they do it’s largely the Sunday 6pm games which follow the final proper football game on Super Sunday.
