Maybe at the hearing the judges turned around and said to Uefa " and you bellends thought you would ban them based on this? you band of incompetent wankers"

If they did I am sure we would be pretty sure we had won without the verdict being released :)

Had no idea Ray Winstone was an adjudicator at CAS.

Think they already know it. 8am UK Monday would be my guess.

Interesting, if they know and it’s negative I wonder will we see some spinning. Positive news we don’t have to worry about, that will take care of itself.

Interesting news from Belgian press saying KDB would want to be compensated with a wage rise if we’re banned.

I hope this isn't going to come back and bite me on the backside but I'm going to post it anyway.

Was just thinking about the story that the ban will be "suspended", which has been dismissed by some of us as unrealistic but might fit in with something else I heard, which I'd also dismissed. We know that the journalist who is reporting the "ban suspended" story is close to Aguero and I'd heard recently from a contact that another first team player had said that we'd won the case. I discounted that story as although it was given to me in very good faith (a) I couldn't corroborate it and (b) it was third-hand (i.e. x told y, who told z).

But what if the players have been told we've won (rather than we're confident we're going to win, which is a different thing) and in the translation from Spanish, "the ban will be overturned" became 'the ban will get suspended"? A bit like Ceferin's "concrete" case actually being "specific" case. Interesting thought.

wouldn’t a suspended sentence still imply we are guilty though and possibly expose us to sanctions from the PL (if at all possible)

Is that the Belgian Sun?

I have seen that re-twitted by City Watch who I have now unfollowed. Why do these profiles just re-tweet and not have any opinion of their own

I think it is likely the players will complain about the bonus structure if we were banned. They signed contracts with chunky bonuses being impossible through no fault of their own. Easy for City to compensate but yet more bottom line cost.

Point taken. On rare occasions though, it's a source of knowledge and good information.

The prospect of stripped titles from 12 and 14 suddenly made me very nervous. Maybe someone with knowledge on here could confirm (if they haven't already) whether this is a plausible worst case prospect or otherwise?

Sounds like the same Twitter thread I linked to yesterday. It was basically a cobbled together list of all the negative things that could happen to us that have been reported in the press.

In a weird way, better than him saying he's definitely going to leave!

The players want to win it first before papping on about bonuses

Fuck me, lost 9 league games this season.

God look at all your likes!

my issue with bluemoon, this thread, and posters like “PR” as well as tolmie and PB Is that whatever they say becomes infallible, I’d you argue against it you get posters shouting you down saying they’re more of a blue because they post information.

Now, before you strawman me, obviously i’m not saying they deserve hate or abuse or anything like, what happens to tolmie sometimes in the summer upsets me because I know he posts in good faith. But if a person gets roundly abused for questioning something then it‘s a bit silly.

personally i’m not a big fan of cults of personalities. But those posters I have absolute no issue with And in fact I welcome their contributions, I enjoy Reading well informed posts, which are by and large rare on this website. However people leaping to defend them is what annoys me. cult of personality; people seem to think “this person knows more than me so therefore are immune to criticism and questions.”

But whatever makes you/them happy I guess.

They're definitely not infallible - they're just City fans like the rest of us, whose experience in law/finance/the media offers them a perspective on certain issue at the club which are of interest to those of us who don't work in those areas.

They get things wrong, for sure. And in my experience, for the most part if people challenge perspective with reason, then it's viewed as part of the debate and contributes to the collective understanding of what is a complex and nuanced issue. Which is kind of the point of this thread.

What is mindless and adds nothing to the debate, however, is people resorting to personal attacks - or just saying 'you're not a proper City fan' because they happen to disagree with or dislike something someone has posted. I'd like to think we've all moved on from inarticulate tantrums in the playground, and people come on here to exchange opinions on the club we all love without just chucking mindless insults at each other. Although one cursory visit to the Matchday forum would provide ample evidence that I've got the whole concept of this forum completely wrong anyway!

And there is an absurdity, I'm sure you'll agree, to leaping to the defence of someone to take objection with someone leaping to defence of someone else.

Could the recent annoucement of UEFA relaxing FFP (Due to COVID-19) be a pre-cursor to our case result?

If it's deemed we have been treated unfairly and the ban is over turned, surely UEFA would have to revise the FFP regulations without having to lose (Too much) face. I'm hoping we have been successful but as a result have come to an agreement with UEFA that we wont rub their noses in it.

Just had a look, yep same thread. Can't argue its biased as hell, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's wrong (hopefully it is!).

As he gets quite a bit of extra cash for qualifying for the CL he’d be mad not to ask for a pay rise, should the ban be upheld, as it’s nothing to do with him, or any of the players for that matter, if we don’t therefore qualify.

If banned what is kdb worth?

£150m plus?

Sterling the same?

So say £300m, we lose two quality players but can they be replaced. Of course they can and we have money to do so.

I want to be in Europe just because of the trips but it not everything.

That's the issue isn't it! The whole this is absurd.

I think the whole "not a real city fan" is fucking stupid anyway to be honest, no one should feel the need to justify themselves even if they have been called out, if you're a city fan you're a city fan some idiot on the internet doesn't change that. The insult means nothing and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone.

If someone wants to call me a rag because I didn't go to Leeds away then all power to them!
