Your last paragraph is the worry as I don't see UEFA going this far on the off chance they might be able to make it stick.

Theories on this thread that it would suit UEFA to lose at CAS & that we have explosive evidence against cartel clubs seem like very unlikely wishful thinking too.
Is it not City taking it this far. If City are the ones appealing to CAS UEFA dont have a choice, other than drop it.

So if you had a smoking gun on some of the G14 you’d play your hand at UEFA? I wouldn’t. I’d go to CAS and get the evidence overseen and judged by someone impartial.
It may be better to hold the smoking gun till it goes to the European courts if CAS uphold the ban and fine. Or put it out anyway if we are exonerated.

I just don't think this thing should've gotten this far. For me it speaks to it being handled badly on all sides. Of course UEFA were going to be put under pressure post Football Leaks to do something.

But I get the impression that City's intransigence in terms of "we did nothing wrong" - when clearly those emails show at the very least that our board of directors were looking for ways around certain FFP issues, has made this situation worse.

For that, the buck stops with Soriano. He should've seen this coming and found a road out of it without it ending up at CAS with us having to wait and see if we can play in the CL next season when we're talking about 'breaches' from 2010/11.
I don’t agree that it stops with him, Khaldoon and the Sheikh are involved remember Khaldoon said so when he spoke about the pinch for the first charge and Mansour being prepared to spend £30m tying UEFA up in court for 10 years

Nether does UEFA because they never looked at it. Easy to prove guilt if you don't let the accused submit any defense. This is where CAS should find failure and UEFA 5 year limit is up - BOOM.
I think it is to Citys advantage that the IC did not look at Citys dossier. Could this be they were running out of time to bring charges and if they started to look at the dossier and City were involved in presenting it they would have gone over the time allowed to bring charges. The AC then did not consider this dossier as it was not part of the evidence forwarded to them by the IC as the IC did not look at it so did not consider it as part of the case.

If we could blow this case apart easily we would have done long ago. There’s been significant damage to the club already. I’ve not given up hope of course, but I’m not buying some of the bullishness.

I’ve been involved in lots of legal disputes and you always say your evidence is irrefutable or rock solid or whatever: You aren’t going to say “well we’ve got a few bits so let’s see what pans out”. If nothing else you can act aghast if your case isn’t accepted ;-)
I'm not sure that's what people mean by the smoking gun. It's more to do with retribution against the other forces against us not the case specifically. I think the case will be about the accounts, the lack of procedure, refuting the implications of the hacked emails with context etc.

I know you decry the whole agenda thing (that's a separate discussion) but the hateful eight letters and the likes of our Bavarian friends should give you a flavour; it is these actors people are hoping we have some incriminating evidence against and I while agree it would be nice, I'm not sure we have.
That said if we did we should definitely keep our powder dry until after the CAS case.

So if you had a smoking gun on some of the G14 you’d play your hand at UEFA? I wouldn’t. I’d go to CAS and get the evidence overseen and judged by someone impartial.
If the evidence actually is irrefutable there's no such thing as playing your hand early. Even if UEFA ignores it you still give it a shot rather than risk getting a ban, suffering huge reputational harm, and potentially losing at CAS. What are they gonna do? Counter it later on? If it's the smoking gun we claim it is it doesn't matter what UEFA have to say about it.

That’ll be the “as far as we know” caveat....
Well, 'as far as we know' is zilch because nobody has said what evidence was given by either side. We have to guess or deduce from public statements like "we submitted irrefutable evidence." The point is we just do not know, which is one of the reasons why I think we should publish all our evidence after the verdict, win or lose. The club have played their cards very close to their chest, which policy, given the media storm agin us, needs to be abandoned asap.
