All this FFP nonsense, G14 getting what they want, different rules for different clubs, referees favouring certain teams in reds (on var, pens, handballs offsides), the PL openly saying it’s better for the beans when the scum and dippers win the league, just goes to show the world is fucking unfair and corrupt. It goes on all over the place, and the elite at the top always prosper at the expense of the masses. To think that people talk about the UK and Europe as free and fair. It’s a fucking nonsense
Post of the week.

U.K. Europe, U.S. Russia, China.... corrupt. People who have power naturally seek it and crave it. If you work in a company of 500 people it becomes a microclimate reflecting society in general. All the sociopaths are in the top jobs. The ambitious below see the type of behaviour that gets rewarded, and try to better sociopaths than those above them. Capitalist, Communist and everything in between, the world is run by ****s.

Terrifyingly true

I think the Etihad deal was signed when it was known that there were plans for the Campus and it would be finished in 2014, so that was presumably factored in when the amount of the sponsorship was determined. I've no idea precisely how they apportion the amounts to be paid for different areas of the sponsorship, but the shirt sponsorship will be easily the biggest amount, and the stadium naming rights are also likely to be far more significant than those for the Campus.

But it's all irrelevant anyway in the case at hand. The issue isn't the amount of the sponsorship, which UEFA's own specialist appraisers accepted as being fairly valued. The problem is that, allegedly, most of the money was ultimately paid by ADUG.

As you say, it's an allegation as to where the lion's share of the money came from.
Is it not possible that most of the money came from an Abu Dhabi Government fund into Etihad and then onto City?

I hope that isnt our argument. If you break a rule at the time it was in place it doesnt matter if it is later changed. You knowingly broke the rules.

I thought that but apparently it’s not true. Its not the law it’s a rule and if the rule has since changed to say other clubs can do what we did now then it’s a significant factor for saying there is no case to answer.

That’s by far the most plausible explanation because it’s already been discovered by someone on here - @Prestwich_Blue I think - that the AD government were propping up Etihad and that information is in the public domain courtesy of the Open Skies dispute so it can be accessed by anyone, even those brain dead twats at UEFA.

To that end, I find it unfathomable that the money originated from ADUG (and our owner) rather than ADEC. It makes no sense whatsoever to put ourselves in that situation when we could legitimately get it funded by ADEC via Etihad and not be in any breach of FFP.

With that in mind, I honestly think that if it ever turned out that the money originated from ADUG, it would - IMO - be right up there as one of the most idiotic things Manchester City Football Club has ever done.

Oh no, not the cup for cock ups. We have not won that for a while.

I m getting ever so slightly miffed with the Neville Chamberlain approach of some on this forum.
You cannot deal with bullies in any other way than to meet them face on.
Appeasement , and accepting a 1 year ban would be , does not work. They will be back for more !

Aren't they just following the club's lead?

Appeasement fits the clubs' strategy towards UEFA and the media over the last 10 years perfectly.

OK, I'll try it this way.
If the CAS find we have a case to answer and uphold the ban, effectively that investigation by senior judges finds that the books were cooked and implies breaches of the Companies Act. However they are not empowered to take action under that Act so will do nothing other than submit their findings to the two parties. City and UEFA. They may issue some brief of an overview of the proceedings with the outcome in their reports.

It has already been stated that the Premier League have been investigating the same allegations made by Dr Spiegel and codified by UEFAs charges into the submission of incorrect accounts. So the first question is, if UEFA uphold the ban and fine in any combination do you think the Premier League will not investigate further?

Do not kid yourself if we get found to have done what is alleged do you believe we will get an easy ride from the British press and the rest of the hateful eight etc? There will be a huge demand for exemplary action. I fully expect a demand for points taken away and redistribution of League Titles etc to be openly banded about as punishment or perhaps you think they'll take it easy on us? I suspect not.

It naturally follows if that happens that such a huge case in the UK indicating we have breached the Companies Act will alert both the Police and CPS. There may well be such a referral to them from the Premier League or from hundreds of "well intentioned" private citizens or other aggrieved football clubs or members of the press due to their outrage at such blatant disregard for the law. Do you not naturally see where it goes? If the general public are seemingly outraged the Police will feel compelled to act under the "public interest" elements of the law.

I make these comments not out of any wish for this to pass but over 25 years experience of legal process and because some blues are quite glib about "Accepting a 1 year ban" and that acceptance clearly indicates a tacit submission of guilt.

Does anyone think the powers that be will be allowed to sweep this under the carpet should the CAS outcome not be favourable? Do you not think Steven Gerrard (who's a keen observer of the outcome) et al will sit back and do nothing along with Liverpool FC who are likely to whip up an absolute storm in their indignation?

Perhaps they'll just let us off!

So when you say there's "No chance" this will lead to criminal charges at home perhaps I'll politely disagree.

Of course it's all speculation at this stage and I hope we have sufficient evidence to exonerate the club completely and none of this will mean a thing.

Do not think I would come to you for 1 hours free legal help might as well say I was guilty
