It would be the archetypal 'Typical City' moment for us to be banned from Europe for 2 years during the exact same summer when every other club can do whatever they like in breaching the break even rules with no fear of sanction.
Clubs won't be allowed to do whatever they like in breaching the break even rules. They have soften the rules for this financial year but they will check in the next one. If you have spent beyond your means, you'll eventually get a sanction.

You can spend a lot in the next window if you know you'll be able to balance it next year.

This line in the daily mail today:

FFP was brought in a decade ago as a response to the global financial crisis which saw a collapse of banks and a crash in the global economy.

VAR was brought in as a response to the Liverpool crisis which saw them without a PL title EVER.
It is not known what crisis caused the Daily Mail.

Wish people would make up their fucking minds about why FFP was brought in.

So far it's:
  • To do with Chelsea
  • As a response to the global liquidity crisis
  • To ensure financial sustainability in football and the timing was completely coincidental
  • To stop us
  • To protect the G14
  • To reduce CO2 emissions
Have I missed anything?

To stop City running out of chips?
