I'm not a major conspiracy theorist but I've no doubt that dark forces are at work trying to make City's life difficult. The problem they face though is that in the grand scheme of things you simply cannot stop a massively rich owner investing in his business in a capitalist society.
The Illuminati strike again.

Pep Guardiola has said whatever he achieves with Manchester City will not be tarnished by recent Financial FairPlay allegations. He also hopes the case is finished as soon as possible. "I trust what the club has done."

“The club made a statement, so I can't add any more to that. The club are open, hopefully it can finish as soon as possible. I trust a lot what the cub has done, because I know them and hopefully they can solve it as soon as possible."

I got to agree with Pep here. Why should anyone think City's reputation is damaged just because of some stolen emails.
Makes no sense whatsoever.
This whole Der Spiegel leaks thing smacks of an agenda.
I seriously think Liverpool fc and Arsenal are behind it.

There are wider ramifications which could come?

Our players have signed contracts which are loaded with achievable bonuses, plenty linked into Champions League participation and success, to top up lower basic wages.

Incidentally, with regards the claims over commercial rights via Operation Longbow. Arsenal have been using similar vehicles to siphon commercial and image rights as part of salary packages for 20 years to tax havens.

Guess which other club also does this via Cayman...
Can I have some time to think this one over...

No offence taken pal. The majority are ****s or frauds. I'm ashamed to be a journalist these days.
Well, you should not be. The best are very good and serve an important function in a free society. Problem is there are also a lot of shits and charlatans and social media and the need for newnews 24/7 gives them an opening. Many are lazy and don't check facts and sources. This story will sift the sheep from the goats and we will see who is genuine and who is plying an agenda.

As a City fan I have no problem with what UEFA are doing the problem I have is that there are other clubs that are millions and millions in debt yet UEFA turn a blind eye

That's all it is, and not just confined to this country. You see it with Trump who, in essence, is actually not far from the truth when he labels stuff as Fake News.

They jump on the bandwagon, give it another twist or spin, dress it up as informed or a new story, citing nothing more than their own sources and insiders.

They don't exist, it's just keeping the pot bubbling and driving an agenda.

City are a bit like Trump, the levels of news hysteria are driven by the fact that the majority don't like him, so it serves an end game. That, or they appeal to the masses, which drives profits anyhow through clicks.
Don’t ever compare or write trump and city in one sentence.
Thank you

Well I'm all for competitiveness. What is the point of football if it's the same clubs challenging all of the time?
you might be but your club isn't. they build the biggest stadium then start a motion that all clubs keep the gate money. what will they do buy the best players for rivals out of the takings? I think not. they didn't even play in the FA cup once (Google it) in order to chase the money. worse club on the planet for total greed.

So in summary for a simple soul like me.

FFP was muted a few years ago to stop another 'Leeds' overreaching. Then, when the new 'dirty' money came into football UEFA changed the FFP rules to try and stop these upstart clubs breaking into the cartel and spoiling the cash cow that the Chumps league had become. City therefore could not grow organically but had to spend quickly to try and catch up with the clubs who had been monopolising the big tv money for decades. In a normal business world this injection of capital is very normal but apparently football prefers teams with huge debts than new money coming in which would obviously be a good thing in any normal non corrupt business.

So, City spent. UEFA got grumpy and investigated and we were found guilty after the goal posts were changed on the small print around wages. An agreement was then made with the head of UEFA after City threatened a public trial for a minimal 'face saving' penalty. We took our pinch.

Now, a criminal hacker has made public through a German paper a load of City e-mails intimating that City were not completely open about their accounts when we were initially investigated. City appear to welcome this new investigation so the rumours can be put to bed.

So, in short, a corrupt organisation which is trying to protect its cash cow has been given stolen incomplete out-of-context documents and are starting another investigation against a club that does everything in the right way. Well done UEFA, top job.

This all seem about right ?

Yes that’s about the crux of it...you should blame horse racing because let’s be clear FFP was specifically introduced to prevent money from the Middle East coming into the game and dominating just like in that sport.

So what UEFA etc are saying is effectively, even though you are the owner of a club, you’re not allowed to put anymore money into it.
It’s like saying you want to improve your golf, but you’re not allowed to buy anymore golf sticks until you generate enough money from other sources.
Ridiculous.

You just did ;)

The premise of my argument remains solid. City can't win. Neither can Trump.

Oops, done it again!
No it doesn’t. It’s like apple and orange (pun intended)
You should be ashamed calling yourself a jurno when you can’t properly compare theses two. Your argument is baseless and amateur at best .Just stick with transfer thread with your fucking YouTube videos.

Had this on the BBC this morning. "Numerous sources are reporting ..." bollocks. It's just to make it sound like something serious has definitely happened and they can report it as news instead of what it actually is ... rumours and accusations from one place.
The BBC coverage has been sub-standard and appalling. They have simply repeated the Der Spiegel allegations repeatedly without any context. No mention of Rui Pinto, no mention of the ongoing legal challenges to FFP, no mention of the background ie the FFP designer Platini being suspended from football for corruption, or the battle between UEFA and FIFA over a new club competition. All we get for our licence fees is juvenile comments from fools like Simon Stone. It's truly pathetic.

Or you could read it again. Or look up banter. Dickhead.

I'd hope we're not like Trump tbh.

Otherwise we'll be in the shit.
