It's shocking when you think that those leagues in Germany and Italy used to be competitive and great to watch. UEFA has done everything it can to preserve the status of Bayern and Juve. The bizarre thing in Germany is that most fans hate Bayern but they hate the new money clubs like Leipzig and Wolfsburg even more. If one of the new clubs could hole Bayern under the water (like we did to the Rags) it would open the door for lots of other contenders. Football fans are their own worst enemies sometimes. We should really form an allliance with Chelsea to take on the establishment here but it will never happen. Imagine if the progressive clubs with money like us, Chelsea, Everton, Wolves perhaps joined forces to force change.
Chelsea and their owner are right up uefas arses

I cant deny that all this has upset me quite a bit last few days.
I lost my dad last year and still struggling to come to terms with it. He took me to Maine road and we had some good times.
I think we will get cleared but with VAR and the constant attacks on our club are making me contemplate not renewing and giving up on the game completely.
Maybe that was the authorities plan all along, I'm not sure anymore.
Sorry to hear that lovely, don't give up yet,let this fire you up instead

Hang in there mate. Your Dad schooled you well.

Stop the world, talkshite supporting City! Samuel as always is brilliant, it seems the world is waking up to how bad UEFA really is, if we get banned, I think UEFA are going to be destroyed now, it’s been shown to be corrupt not only in England but around Europe.

Never minded Sam Lee but even think he has become more like the other gutter press over past few days.
Likewise I’ve liked him on a variety of pods and some of his athletic articles have been really good.
He’s out of his depth with FFP or CAS though. Listened to a second captains pod last night and he was useless. The thing is he has access too great info - like Stefan on 93.20 and he obviously hasn’t listened or read the blog and I was surprised at that cos he is a regular on 93.20. Delaney was his usual self. wnker

Didn’t I read somewhere on here recently with the Liverpool hacking issue, that we felt we had to rush through the Fernandinho and Navas deals in Summer 2013 and for more money than we wanted because we thought Liverpool may come in for the same players, or something to that effect?

So their hacking actually had ramifications regarding this particular issue?
Yeh - we ended up signing f#cking Navas.......... ;-)

€30M is more than any profit we have made.
A 2 yr ban is worth well over €1/4B in CL revenues.
Commercial revenues would decrease dramatically.

UEFA are trying to financially cripple the club for a decade or more by removing the financial underpinnings of the club that literally allow it to compete. In short, it is BUSINESS FRATRICIDE, and they know it.

it cannot be allowed to stand, EVEN IF WE ARE TECHNICALLY GUILTY OF OVERSTATING A COMMERCIAL PARTNERSHIP. There is no serious person on earth who could possibly believe that the punishment is, in any way, commensurate with the “crime,” even as charged by UEFA. Indeed, the only reason ANYONE would even do such a thing would be to attempt to break into a cartel that has been created to protect themselves from outside companies trying to take a share of the billions in TV and commercial revenues, the bulk of which they have historically kept within a small group of companies to help them grow and stay profitable at the expense of others.

And, against the backdrop of the PSG case, whereby a reported €100M commercial deal was “objectively valued” at €5M, yet UEFA accepted the €100M valuation, it appears corruption WITHIN UEFA is rife, but only available to members of the Executive Board.

Lawyers and a neutral judge (if such a thing exists in the world of multi-billion Euro business, where everyone has a favorite team!) should have a field day with both the genesis and the application of FFP to date.

I’ll worry about City’s future after the last appeal has been exhausted and Sheikh Mansour has walked away.

Until then, I quote Mark Twain, as provided in the Quotations thread:

I’ve had a lot of worries in my life, most of which never happened.
Great post, and you managed to mention Mark Twain. That's a ten-out-of-ten from me.

This crisis, like being relegated to Div 3, will galvanise the whole club and our fanbase. City fans usually respond well in a crisis. Sorry about your dad. I was working in Tameside today and stopped and talked to a couple of City fans I saw wearing our colours. It cheered me up no end. Remember don't let the bastards grind you down.

Hi Matt,

sorry for your loss, I lost my dad too last year on March 12th. My dad took me to Maine Road on the Platt Lane benches from 1976 my first game.

if he was here now he would want me and all of us to stick with City.

if we go to League 2 or even lower !

I'll never forget the first home game v Blackpool in League 2 . When the boys ran out the hairs on my neck stood on end !

when our backs are to the wall we come together better than any other fan base.

strip our titles, strip our FA cups, our League cups too ! I don't care

I know the game is corrupt!

But come the first league home game in League 2 there WILL be 55,000 inside the Etihad ! The old boys will come out of the woodwork ! The real heart and soul of the club will stand shoulder to shoulder!

Once again the hairs will stand up on the back of our necks !

Stick with it Matt !

Count Chelsea out, they went native years ago, they were in favour of ffp.

That’s what I’ve been thinking.

Are they playing us and UEFA good and proper?

What does the tradecraft tell you?

I suspect Karla.

You're thankfully mistaken on this.

R57 Scope of Panel’s Review, Hearing

The Panel has full power to review the facts and the law. It may issue a new decision which replaces the decision challenged or annul the decision and refer the case back to the previous instance. The President of the Panel may request communication of the file of the federation, association or sports-related body, whose decision is the subject of the appeal. Upon transfer of the CAS file to the Panel, the President of the Panel shall issue directions in connection with the hearing for the examination of the parties, the witnesses and the experts, as well as for the oral arguments.

After consulting the parties, the Panel may, if it deems itself to be sufficiently well informed, decide not to hold a hearing. At the hearing, the proceedings take place in camera, unless the parties agree otherwise. At the request of a physical person who is party to the proceedings, a public hearing should be held if the matter is of a disciplinary nature. Such request may however be denied in the interest of morals, public order, national security, where the interests of minors or the protection of the private life of the parties so require, where publicity would prejudice the interests of justice, where the proceedings are exclusively related to questions of law or where a hearing held in first instance was already public.

The Panel has discretion to exclude evidence presented by the parties if it was available to them or could reasonably have been discovered by them before the challenged decision was rendered. Articles R44.2 and R44.3 shall also apply.

If any of the parties, or any of its witnesses, having been duly summoned, fails to appear, the Panel may nevertheless proceed with the hearing and render an award.

Thanks for that and hopefully I am wrong
