Couldn't have picked upon a more belligerent set of fans.

What is really bizarre is they treat us as if we are some vast herd of brainwashed unwashed.

I can't speak for other fans, but we have playboys of the western world like wot I am, and bald frauds like Prestwich Blue, who actually knows what he's talking about and every possibly variation in between.

These scribbling bastards must hate themselves having to dish up this shit for people they loathe and don't understand. I guess in the world of journalism, football punditry is the job you get when all the good ones are taken.

Interesting probably isn't the right word for it, but what is noticeable is the high handed tone these football scribblers have adopted when referring to City fans.

Beyond what they actually write, which for the most part is clickbait bullshit, they patronise us in a way which tells me a great deal more about them than it does about us.
Perhaps the only way they can feel superior to another "class" of people.
They are completely unaware that their understanding of FFP in particular would be educational if they read the posts on this forum since FFP was introduced.
I am proud that our BM fanbase has such a wide knowledge to tap into. I learnt most of my understanding via here.
Do they really think that real, informed people can be intimidated by their extreme views, mistaking politeness for weakness.

I fear they have picked on the wrong Club and definitely the wrong supporters.

I see city have hired David Pannick QC to represent them.

he was the fantastic silk who wiped the floor with govt in the brexit stuff. Gina millers lawyer.

20k a day apparently
You mean wiped the floor with democracy.

If he can do that I’m expecting the Champions League trophy to be presented to us as a forfeit in May. Just play the games as a sort of exhibition, ignoring the results.

This is an important point. When our sponsorshops were first being valued for the purposes of FFP, it was as a relatively unsuccessful club and only a potential place amongst the elite. With the benefit of hindsight and our phenomenal rise to the most successful club of the decade, I expect that if they were being revisited, if anything, they'd be shown to have been undervalued.
That makes sense.
I never thought about that.
The more popular something is, the more can be charged for the commodity/service.
Fair play...

Since when is Nick Haris a journalist?

Since he was appointed Chief Sports News Correspondent of the Mail on Sunday, at the least, a post he held for years (don't know if he still does). I agree he comes across as an utter twat and it's fair to say I'm not a fan of his output but it's perfectly legitimate to describe him as a journalist.

As for David Pannick, he's very much a class act. At the moment, I'm training a group of Russian lawyers in my firm's dispute resolution practice to develop their skills in terms of arguing a case in spoken and written English (we have a lot of cases that go to international arbitration).

I made them watch Pannick's submission in the Gina Miller case as an example of a master at work. Probably the best in the business, according to people more familiar with the commercial bar than I.

... sorry, I had to.

Fuck me the costs don’t count in FFP do they
In the previous City and UEFA case at CAS, the lawyers on our side were stated to be representing CFG, i.e. the parent company was defending its subsidiary. Assuming that the same happens this time, the costs won't count as MCFC expenses for FFP purposes. [emoji3]

Well they’d better get some top notch lawyers. The implications if the ban is upheld are huge for the business of the football club. Not just the 30 million quid fine, but also the fact the City project is being thrown back another 5 years.
