Controversial theory -

The Athletic published that story about City only being due a fine in order to get the ‘elite’ clubs on UEFA’s back to dish out a harsher punishment.
It was obviously originally leaked out of UEFA by someone. I think it was probably disinformation so the Athletic was duped.
Something similar happened to the Times when they, along with others, were briefed to run a story saying City would be banned "within days." That leak started within UEFA but eventually came to the media via one of our commercial rivals. I think the Times were not happy about being duped on this story and since then their coverage has been much smarter and much more fair and balanced. I am also sure that the subsequent story they ran about Liverpool''s hacking of City was linked to this episode.

Most of those defeats were in games against Everton or Liverpool which purely coincidentally he was almost invariably given to officiate. One of the draws was at Stoke. Micah scored a late goal for City but Stoke equalised deep into injury time. As he walked off after the final whistle Walton fist pumped the Stoke fans.

The corrupt bastard now has a cosy sinecure as BT Sports' go to referee in the studio.

I see I’ve come in for some fair abuse on here for an apparently stupid comment.

However, let me just explain why I’m concerned. Reading the 2000 plus pages on here has given me the assurance that City are on safe grounds and will win the case. Ranging from, UEFA didn’t even look at our defence to proof that the Etihad sponsorship was clearly paid by the Executive Council from Abu Dhabi and not from our owners.

The lawyer we hired is famous for a technicality in fighting Brexit. So while I’m as concerned as everyone else here on the outcome, I’m merely questioning the need for this kind of approach for our case. Obviously I don’t want the shittiest lawyers but just asking why we really have to get the best at 20k if we’re sure of our case?

Simply because we have to have a watertight case. He will explore every avenue from technicalities, to loop holes to evidence and everything in between. If you can pick a hole in the prosecution then it raises the doubt that everything else has been done correctly.

The same blog now alleges Alti fan is following the same template.

I rather think UEFA leaked that to Sam Lee in good faith on the basis that they were going to offer to find City guilty on a technicality and levy a small fine and no ban. The fact that City apparently told UEFA where to shove their offer led to their about turn and a ridiculously swingeing punishment and Lee ended up with egg on his face.

Lee could have been a leaker and they were trying to confirm it?

Only a guess mind.

Delaney trying to Gaslight PB on twatter is hilarious.

@Prestwich_Blue has always come across and fair and rational to me. Regardless of his City allegiance. The way he's being targeted by Miguel shows immaturity on his part.

Not seen the full exchange - only 1 screenshot - but Delaney implying PB is saying stuff against him that could have legal ramifications is the biggest piss take going, considering all the shit Delaney has come out with about City

Didn't Sam Lee say the opposite? That UEFA changed their mind, after lobbying from other clubs?

He suggested the original story was based on contacts from all sides.

I hadn't heard that but sadly it's very plausible.

This was from Sam Lee, just after the story of the ban broke: "yes, me and a colleague did the story, based on several sources inside City and outside too. And after the story was published there was the extra kicker of Silver Lake investing in City and, as it was put to us, doing their homework, i.e. they didn't expect a ban either. And on top of that, another source confirmed to me Thursday that the announcement was definitely scheduled for December. I have had some responses as to what changed in the meantime (will put those in an article asap, but basically it's pressure from other clubs) and I'm hoping for more over the next few days, from my colleague's sources too."

They're all trolls, don't know why blues interact with them!

Basically what we all know is going on - UEFA and its cabal of clubs - just hope that we have evidence and go for the jugular in all of this

Pressure from other clubs?
Can't be true, the AC is entirely independent, you know. Oh yes.
