"Silverlake", is that the same Silver Lake that have shares in City Group? I thought Silver Lake do the investing? That doesn't make much sense to me.

I had a Liverpool fan claiming that Abu Dhabi were already investors and thus it was Abu Dhabi pumping more money into the club. At least that doesn't appear to be true, if they are only just buying in now.

From previous investments, that have generated capital, is what I thought. I'm not claiming to be an expert in any of this btw, I would rather know what I'm talking about for future dipper claims.

Is there a list of companies/people who have paid into this fund? Couldn't seem to find one when I looked.

Investment Funds are exactly that. They take private capital (from individuals, corporations, country’s own sovereign wealth funds and pension funds) and invest those funds within other companies and industries to get a return on those investments.

The way I see it rightly or wrongly Silver Lake raise funds from partners and investors* then re-invests in mainly tech companies

I can see what’s happening here, Abu Dhabi gives this company some money to invest. Fuck Uefa Ltd then set up with companies house 1 billion invested, then new shirt sponsor unveiled. Make sure we aren’t using Google Mail for an email account and City are home free. Genius.

What I find truly baffling is why we allow the press to write such virol stuff about us on a daily basis?
Why are they not taking these journos to court or banning them from the stadium?
Our PR dept is shocking.

They are probably taking a judgement call that the net effect would be yet more negative publicity.
