I see Ceferin is putting Liverpool worried minds at rest saying there is no way they wont be crowned champions, even if it means doing so "over the green table" as he put it.

May as well give it to them over some table somewhere as that decision to hand it them via VAR was made round a table before a ball was even kicked.

As much as it hurts us and our fans, i want football to go fucking bust once and for all and reset because it is utterly corrupt at the professional level and ran by gangsters and bookies.
If that is the way they like it...:)

Ceferin was talking about options. What he said isn't unreasonable.

From ESPN:
"I see no way for Liverpool to stay untitled," he told told Slovenian sports daily Ekipa. "If the championship resumes, they will almost certainly win it -- theoretically, it has not yet reached the guaranteed level, but it is practically close.

"However, if it could not be played, it would also be necessary to announce the results in some way and find some key on how the champions should be determined. And, of course, again I do not see a scenario in which that would not be Liverpool.

"I understand that fans will be disappointed if it happens in an empty stadium or even at the green table, but I believe they will win the title one way or another."

How is it reasonable?

They have not won the league as mathematically it is still possible for us to win it.

Should Utd have been handed the title when they where 8 points clear with 6 games to go?

Like I've suggested previously, award it to them now without kicking another ball so they can have the trophy.

They themselves and we will all know that they have still never won it..........

I'm all for it

Yup .... this or null and void. Win - win for us!

Thing is still, award them it, and West Brom/Leeds will be demanding the same .... which would open the can of worms of relegations again. Something I would expect Villa would not take lying down.

The use of the word 'if' makes it reasonable.

Your comparison with MU is ridiculous as the numbers are wildly different.

It's none of Ceferin's business, but if the league isn't finished UEFA are saying teams will not qualify for Europe. Perhaps it's a way of ensuring the dippers aren't excluded.

This is the important point from the PL perspective - if a decision at the top is made, then a decision needs making through the division (at the very least).

It is his business if he's asked "what happens for next year to the competitions you're in charge of?".

The alternative is he says "I don't know". That makes him look as though it's not been thought about, and that would not be good for UEFA sponsors!

I've not seen anything that matches the bit you cite about unfinished leagues not having qualifiers - do you have anything more about when that was said?

The use of the word 'if' makes it reasonable. You dont get it

You dont get it. They have not won the league in the same way clubs have not been relegated.

Hand Liverpool the title and you then have to relegate 3 sides.....do that and you then have to hand the title to a Championship side and promote 2 others..........and so on and so on and so on..........

Football will never resume again as the next 20 years will be spent in the courts!

You've accidentally inserted a 'you don't get it' in the quote.

You are attempting to argue a different point from me.
