The time has now come to scrap FFP in its current form. It is totally stupid that you can make a profit and fail FFP. While a club across the city can lose millions and pass FFP. This is totally beyond my comprehension.

The whole board of UEFA needs a root and branch clean sweep. Every person on a UEFA board needs to be removed and replaced. With younger blood and with those who have played the game at the highest level.

I am worried that when and if CAS clears us, that UEFA will not try again to ban us from their competitions. Those guys on both the IC and AC committees of UEFA won't try something else to get us banned. They just hate are guts they maybe even racist.

Beyond mine as well mate, as you can't possibly fail FFP if you've made a profit.

You can however pass FFP if you've made a loss and are bleeding cash. You can breach your banking covenants and pass FFP. That (as well as other things) is why it's a nonsense.

But they are running a business they want to spend they want to invest in players and importantly for them infrastructure and do not want to be told what to do by people who know nothing of business let alone them or Manchester City but even without FFP we won’t ever have a team of Galaticos because they want to make money and want to be respected as to how they are doing things

I'm not sure we will see spending like 2008, Sheikh Mansour always wanted us to be self sufficient, which for 5 years we have, the last couple of seasons we have only signed what the board felt was needed and the academy is profitable.

If UEFA are endorsed by CAS, then It might be a different story but SM will more likely go after UEFA in the courts.

Do your continuous jurisprudential fantasies provoke you to earth shattering orgasms?
I'm not particularly well up on German or Swiss law, but fantasy is what you are indulging in:
- I doubt if we have a cause of action against Speigel....fair comment and all that
. - Uefa are probably immune under Swiss law from actions for damages arising from operating their rules. Even a faulty procedure unlikely to jeopardise them.
- As for others, saying stuff we don't like usually is not actionable.
City's owners are serious about all this; I doubt they share your need to sue all and sundry.

You’ve been contributing to this debate for sometime but you still seem to think UEFA as a whole are the enemy. They are NOT - it’s the G14 cartel clubs that are the problem. We need to win this case and side with the more positive elements of UEFA against our enemies - the G14.

Family guy isn't part of the ruling family of a country with one of the most restricted and censored press in the world.

UAE is 131st out of 180 on the press freedom index, and it's something they have been getting very public shit over for a long time. If the club start banning journalists, papers or pursuing them in courts then rightly or not, comparisons will be made. Especially with Simon Pearce at the helm.

Our other owners, the Chinese Media Capital, are allowed to operate by the state ranked 177th out of 180.

It's just not smart to draw attention to these things, you would completely overshadow any small gain from legally punishing a journo or paper.

Mere untruth does not generally provide a cause of action for defamation. Depending on the jurisdiction, there has to be some element beyond untruth such as alleging criminal behaviour, or malice or damage.
Khaldoon is much too subtle to go round waving writs. I'm sure he will have other plans in mind.
