Not quite correct. The Dupont case finished in an unsatisfactory no score draw. Dupont won at first instance in a Belgian court, but then it all got messy on a matter of jurisdiction.

I can't remember exactly what that offer was, but I sincerely hope we have a record of it, and then submit what was on offer should we "take a pinch", and what that eventually became when we didn't, be interesting to see what UEFA had to say if they were asked by the CAS for an explanation as to why there was such a difference.

Offers put during negotiations are often 'without prejudice' and, if they are seen to be genuine offers as part of a negotiation process agreed by the parties then they are likely to be upheld as made under privilege and, as such, cannot be referred to in later proceedings.
This is because the courts want parties in dispute to be able to negotiate, prior to raising the matter to a court of law, without being fearful that their discussions and offers will be used against them at a later date.
If it wasn't for this reasonable convention we'd have less disputes settled in negotiation and far more taken to court.

It's also the case that an awful lot of correspondence in matters of dispute are marked as being 'without prejudice' when they actually aren't. Just because an offer says that it's without prejudice doesn't mean it is.

They didn't arrive at their judgement without confidence, probably had legal bigwigs from the G14 all over this for months.

I don't see a problem with it - 'location' is meaningless anyway, if some is being done by video conference, and it may just mean that which hotel (etc) is being used is not being revealed.

I suspect they're just trying to avoid a media scrum or, worse, nutjob fan action, including social media, etc.

Both sides will know who the judges are, it will almost certainly be in the CAS report on the case, and it makes no difference who else knows right now.

I don’t know about deservedly. The wrong people are on trial for starters. The cheats are the cnuts, who’ve tried to turn a sport, with all the connotations that word has for equal opportunity and fairness, into a loaded and repugnant personal fiefdom, and they pretty much all play in red. I feel such resentment to the rags, the dippers, Bayern, Delaney, Corbett, Harris, Syed and all the rest of the snide, shitty wankers we’re up against, that I won’t feel the slightest bit of remorse or guilt if it turns out we have deliberately tried to circumvent their bent cartel ‘rules’.
