"Soriano,
@ManCity
's CEO, has said #MCFC will bring 'irrefutable evidence that the claims are not true'. (…) A person with knowledge of the Uefa's investigations says: 'provided #Uefa don’t cave in, they should win at CAS... City have no evidence at all'.

I've just replied to this idiot from Der Spiegel.
How would this so called person with knowledge of Uefa's investigations say that City have no evidence at all?

What his source really means is "City offered the IC a dossier of evidence but the IC chose not to look at it. Therefore such evidence doesn't exist".

My sense is we see this as a way of reforming UEFA - ridding it of the most hostile elements determined to exclude us from their closed shop. And if we win at CAS (and that is a huge 'if', in my book), we will be in a very strong position to do exactly that.

We don't want UEFA gone, we want it there to regulate European, but with us on the inside.

What's going on here is a power struggle within the European game, between those who want us out for good - and City, fighting for a place at the top table. It's high stakes, and whoever comes out on top at CAS will have won through for their vested interests.

Cerefin, and the main body of UEFA, are hedging their bets - waiting to see who wins this one. If it's us, then UEFA will be a far greater ally than it has been at any point during our development to date. If it's them - then we're out, to all intents and purposes.
Gulp

An excellent post that doesn't treat UEFA as a monolithic block. UEFA has a number of factions with conflicts of interest akimbo. I don't see Ceferin as hostile to City, largely in the same way that I didn't see Infantino or Platini as our adversaries. I see them as administrators intent on making money for their organisation and thus themselves. The rise of City does not run counter to those interests. Nevertheless, the influence of actors of certain clubs cannot be overlooked. The corporate governance model of UEFA is open to the inclusion of people who have key interests in its members. That cannot be right. The governing body should not be interfering with the financial affairs of its members. It's very sad that football rivalry has come to power and politics. The age of innocence is long over.

Exactly....if we win then UEFA should act to cleanse itself and start to govern football as it should.

That means that no employee of UEFA should gave a vested interest in any club and should never once have been an employee of any club

If we do end up with a year, trying to think of the positives, we couldn’t have chosen a better year. Next year’s competition is likely to be disrupted again with no crowds allowed for a while. Any of our players wanting away for the prestige of the CL might think twice and ride it out.

Ceferin is a politician. He's waiting on the winner - and whoever that is, he'll get behind them and will advocate their agenda.

If that's us - we'll all be signing his praises over the next few months. And if it's Gill and his mob, we'll all be calling him a c*nt, because his line will be all about our guilt and dishonesty - and how European football is better off without the likes of us!

it will be over for UEFA and the FFP ? how can they go on and be lead by the elite ? its them who wanted the sanctions and asked uefa or should i say the board made the rules to stop manchester city in the first place ? what other way can they turn to in stopping manchester city other than FFP

defo not a legal way ? yes the uefa officials will still hold the power of the matches and VAR but that is not enough because city will just sign all the best players spend £billions and win the champions league year after year

City want to be exonerated without qualification. City are a profitable and debt free club and intend to stay that way, though I suspect we may wish to invest sums not available from annual revenue periodically in the future. FFP was cooked up between Platini and a number of clubs determined to make permanent their position at the summit of the game's pyramid. The attitude of these clubs has not changed, but Platini is no longer a factor and his successor, Ceferin, appears to be changing his view. Whereas Sorriano said that City had "friends" at UEFA, in March Ceferin said that UEFA "liked" City and that "they are our asset, I respect them, they are our club. I don’t want to say that now we don’t like Manchester City. We like them, they are our club.." At the same time he stressed he had nothing to do with the CFCB's process. It may be that this is all a reflection of disquiet about the decision made and even about the enforceability of FFP. Almost certainly coronavirus will have convinced him that FFP has to go. His recent statements have emphasised the need for investment at a time when revenue from gate receipts and sponsorship have been shown not to be as reliable as Platini argued. Not all owners will invest, but some will - and we know one who has. Ceferin may wish to see genuine investment allowed, but not the interest free loan, debt finance practised at Portsmouth and elsewhere. Ceferin may get it right where Platini got it so embarrassingly wrong. This will almost certainly involve dispensing with the services of certain officials but City would, I think, cooperate in getting a workable, sustainable and fair system set up - that's what our board does. So I don't think it's over for UEFA, if City win at CAS. In fact, it could be the dawn of a whole new day for football.

This is torture, its like Derby day, but it last for 3 days and you won't know the result for a month or so

I made the mistake of organising a hiking holiday to Nepal in April without checking the FA Cup semi final dates. Of course City got there.. the Arsenal game in Peps first season. For 3 days I had no reception at all on my phone and no way of finding out the result. My partner would say, 'Wow look at that stunningly beautiful mountain' and 'that's the most amazing sunset I've ever seen'. I'd agree but 5-10% of my mind was wandering and kept thinking... I wonder if we won, are we going to Wembley.

I finally received a text saying we had lost.. typical City spoiling holidays since 2008.

I don't understand your reasoning.
If we have done nothing wrong then why should we accept any punishment?
Exonerate ourselves and sue UEFA is how we should be approaching this.
Don't forget - they have tried to fxck us over, now it's our turn!

Completely agree, I don't get his thought process that CAS would decide to give us a year ban because we will get over it.

I see it 1 of 2 ways we win or we lose, no middle ground as far as city are concerned.

Where was the video link setup at? Are they at our stadium? If so we need eyes on people so we can see their body language as they are leaving.....I hope it is something like this

Just listened to BT sports writers podcast about the ruling. They are seeing this as City v ffp & if we win this will be the end of ffp. Now don't get me wrong, seeing the back of ffp would be great but surely this case is just about City not complying with e ffp rules.

I coach an under 13’s team and have been coaching them since they were 5. In the past, I’ve had to delay a cup game for two hours so that I could wake up in Cologne, Germany and coach them at dinner time in North Ferriby so I didn’t ever miss a match.

I booked them into a tournament in Scarborough on the same day as the Watford cup final last season when not realising the date clash.

Wembley was out of the question so I had to think, “how do I do both?”

I took the family camping in a tent to Scarborough. The first night, it pissed down. We went to the tournament the next day knowing that the final of the tournament ended at the same time as the FA Cup final started. We were a 5 minute drive away so I thought that it’d all work out and I’d be back in the camp site pub ready for Abide With Me.

My team went all the way to the final and won the fucker, meaning that I walked into the pub as the replay of David Silva’s opener was being shown.

City - ruining grassroots football since 2008.

Surprisingly their killer man Giroud didn't decide the game; it was Craig Pawson and his officials.

Only 2008? You a JCL?

I think so many people clingong onto the word 'worriesome' in CAS's previous rulong is somewhat grasping. It describes the allegations.
Of course the allegations are worrisome. But doesn't really mean they have merit (obviously i think they do, that isnt the point). I think more is made out of that than really benefits us, sadly.
I don’t think it matters. We say we we didn’t trust them with all our evidence. Difficult to prove either way. Anyway and importantly all the evidence is out there now. CAS will look at what is now in front of them.
